Some pointless sounds recorded too quietly

These are my favourite sounds I’ve made since starting to make stuff, I think. It still feels unpolished and meandering to me, but I guess neither of those things are necessarily bad. Appreciate any listen’s/feedback :slight_smile:

Two modular patches with shared elements, manually triggered in succession several times. Then edited a bit.

To elaborate: Two sequencers (Metron & ER-101), each containing data for two discrete patches, which are triggered manually…

2019.10.08 Modular Audio Visual Meditation


This is often what I’m doing with my audio visual modular. Self meditation. I find it super relaxing and I don’t normally record anything because often that takes away from the meditation aspect of doing it. This has ansible Kira as the brain leading the audio and video generation. Is this something that seams meditative to others?

We just released our third album with Sgrow.

Since 2017, Sgrow have worked on a comprehensive studio project that has resulted in a two part album series named Circumstance. The first album was released in November 2017 to critical acclaim. The second part of the series, Circumstance II, is being released in October this year. The album series thematically is centered around control, more precisely the things that are beyond our control - circumstances that shape and change us, and how they hold us back or set us free. Where the first album in the series had a focus on the life changing and transformative, Circumstance II deals more with relationship dynamics and how we interact as humans. The seven tracks tell a story about the complex, sometimes confusing and frustrating, maybe even unhealthy relationships we find ourselves in, the relationship with ourself and with other people.

I spent quite some time working on this patch, going back and forth, tweaking it shaping it, until it finally all clicked and came together. It’s amazing how our perception can change about a given project when we step away for a while. There’s a fine line sometimes between commiting to something or completely scrapping it and starting a new. This is one of many, many takes recorded over the course of a month. I hope you enjoy it.
