Here’s my contribution for drone day 2020. iOS app Shoom with a sensel morph utilizing MPE to control all aspects of the sound modulation. All used 7-TET tuning so that I could just play expressively without worrying too much about “notes” and more about the sound and piecing it all together after the fact. Recorded 20 drones and then layered them in ableton (no fx added), mastered in Ozone.

Hello everyone,
Let me describe what’s going on here.

Digitakt plays number of ukulele and glockenspiel loops. I use different Conditional Trigs on every step to create semi-generative playback for acoustic parts. On the video I turn on/off volume on different tracks and mess with delay/feedback/filter parameters.

Then I played some notes on toy piano and melodica. Melodica was recorded on tape and played back in halfspeed. This processed track was mixed with the original recording.
Finally I added a bass from Deepmind.

Hope you’ll find it useful or just enjoy the music!

Isolierte (isolated in german) is a remix from a track from Teslaradio (Andrés Garachana). During this isolation Andrés contacted me with the purpose of making a remix of a track from his next work “Grains”, giving me total creative freedom to make what I wanted. And this is how this Isolierte remix is born. Taking shape little by little during this isolation time. A mix of grains, modular synthesizer, Deluge and piano.

Been a while since I sequenced with these two. Always love it. Also had Metropolis going, modulating the step length and pre-quantize CV with the Planar2.

[Make Noise vs Noise Engineering vs Beatstep] Eurorack Supernature Jam

I tried to make a little jam based on a dance electronic music classic from the 1977 with my eurorack modular synthetizer, Supernature by Cerrone, after I recenlty watched Climax, a great 2018 movie directed by Gaspar Noé.
The video has been recorded in one take with a GoPro cam and edited with some parts of the Climax movie as a little tribute to both movie and music.
never stop modular experimentation
Patch notes:

  • Drums: Telharmonic N out (snare), Pico Drum (kick & hit-hats)
  • Sequencer: beatstep (lead), rené (bass)
  • Main Voice: Loquelic Iteritas through QPAS
  • Second Voice: DPO final out
  • FX: morphagene custom reel through Antumbra SMOG
  • reverb: Erb-verb
  • additional modulations: Maths, Zone BF, Function, Wooglebug, micro o_C
    feedbacks and comments welcome

The new Ripples has finally been announced, so I can share some of the stuff I had recorded during testing. It’s funny how the stuff I make when testing modules usually does not sound anything like me.

Plumbutter + 808… what’s not to like? :man_shrugging: :man_dancing: :dancer:

Hi
After two “confinement months” full of collaboration and working remotely on other people’s tracks, this came as an unexpected one:
Yesterday and today I worked on my remix of Steven Wilson’s latest track PERSONAL SHOPPER from his upcoming album THE FUTURE BITES

I got the masters from SW (18 tracks), the original recording performed by Steven Wilson and his band, Elton John guests on spoken vocals.

I used 13 of those tracks and added:

3x bowed upright basses
1x Pizzicato upright bass
1x Electric bass guitar (disco section, Drake Custom)
1x Drums (brushed) and some programming
1x Matrix 12 synth
3x acoustic guitars (Martin J15)
1x solo cello performed by my friend Damien J . Jarry

Original track here:
open.spotify.com/album/6YhimvvGtlk2je6ZPwNeHU

My track is as long as the original (followed the structure all the way), so for those with patience and for fans of SW’s work, check it out, comments and critics are most welcome. This is an unusual paradigm for me.
Cheers
dd
