little technoid jam from yesterday
ps.: sorry for the several edits, have to get used to this board software first :,)

I could listen to crow’s “first” forever. I recorded a bit of it, and some moody autumn forests.

Crow sequences Mangrove and a self oscillating Three Sisiters (“all” output). Everything goes through Bastl Thyme, EHX Cathedral adds reverb.

Generative ambient music experiment :
with VCV Rack and iPad (Dingsaller app, workspace for creating algorithmic compositions).

Minimal setup, only use resonator module as sound source in VCV Rack, and trigger by sine wave from iPad with Dingsaller app, control them with a touch.

I played my first electronic live set this weekend! I’ve released the full, uncut recording on my bandcamp as a free download.

I was asked to play two weeks before the show date, so I didn’t have a lot of time to prepare, and I was going to be spending the majority of that following week out of town so I decided to do the entire set on my Digitakt, keeping it simple and ensuring I could create the tracks while traveling. I cleared out everything from the sampler and spent the night before my trip loading it up with snippets from the past several months worth of modular noodlings, Pro 2 patches, and shortwave radio surfing. The bulk of the set was made in the cafe car of an Amtrak on the way from Norfolk to Washington DC, and the return trip.

I’m happy with how it went, considering it was my first live show. I had a lot of trouble hearing what I was doing, so I was flying blind through some parts and there were a few moments where things got away from me. But I wanted to put out the full recording of the event itself rather than cut out the parts I like.

Each of these tracks is a response to a recording made by Stuart Bowditch of a Silhouette Cameo 3 plotter cutter in Nick Dawson’s studio as it was creating a sleeve for ParcelC01, Graham Dunning’s Keg/Bulkhead cassette release.

First recorded piece in a while and first go with mimeophon.

After like 5 years of making rap beats on this thing, @kcikdrumk reminded me it was a techno beast hahaha.

Hey gang! This last summer, I played my first modular only live set using this system:

Thanks for checking it!

Just performed for the first time at MOTS Los Angeles. Hopefully I’ll have the full set eventually up
First Modular Performance

Stumbled upon a nice Mangroves cello-sounding patch this afternoon. Sequenced by Marbles, formants modulated by Wogglebug. Into fully wet clouds.

FFO: synthesized click-clacks

I’m not sure the Roland MC-707 is for me, or maybe not for the Lines community, but it was fun to explore its sounds and feature set. Roland doesn’t exactly have the same track record of updating their firmware that Elektron or Novation does, but here’s hoping this one’s an exception, because the MC-707 could be a much greater device with a little love.

Take a listen!

I know right? 2 Mangroves in constant formant mode with heavy formant modulation from Wogglebug into Clouds looping delay all the way wet. I was really surprised and happy with the results! I am trying to build a larger patch around it now.

Dan,

Really cool track, I think I was hearing some nice glitches there…

You made my day with the shoutout, thanks so much!
