The output of the Volca goes into a low pass filter to cut unpleasant high frequencies (above 15k or so) caused by the volca reverb. From the filter the signal goes through a Happy Nerding FX Aid reverb then into the er301 where I have a live looper intermittently recording and looping a few seconds of sound. That same buffer is used in a second looper to play short intermittent bursts of the sample. The source of all sounds, except reverb is the Volca Modular. Pamela’s New Workout to the sync input to modulate the Volca clock.

Lofi one-take loops, noise, kinda kosmiche, and a long free improv session. Had a lot of fun making this!

First time sharing something here. I don’t know if anyone really watches this stuff but I had fun putting it together.

Patch notes:
René 2 sends a simple 4-note sequence to STO with some melodic variation introduced by Pamela’s New Workout. Stages’ various, uh, stages are modulated by Pam’s and the release stage triggers a second envelope that results in an echoing beep from Plaits through Intellijel’s LPG. These are further processed by 4MS Dual Looping Delay.

The droning noise is STO into Rings which is being “strummed” by a slowly modulated noise source.

Other effects include plenty of filtering by SSF Stereo Dipole and Ripples with a heavy dose of reverb from Typhoon. I ran everything through an outboard compressor which helped tame the dynamics a little but at the cost of a lot of noise from a bad cable :unamused:.

So I know it’s exactly the opposite direction most people go with this stuff, but after a decent couple of years using exclusively standalone hardware, it was interesting to try the Ableton Push 2 and see how it was. I was actually pretty impressed with the workflow (never once looked at the computer) and with the feel of the pads on the device. Plus, none of my synths have much in the way of tape pianos, so it was nice to access some plug-ins that have basically gone untouched. The Push 2 seems like a nice way to make live ambient music.

First time posting a track in this thread.

It’s an ambient jam with two recent acquisitions: the Syntrx & the Easel Command. So far, I love them both.

Other notable players are just Pyramid for sequencing; Syntrx is sending some audio to a CT5 (running the newer firmware) and there is a BAM / BOUM on end of chain duties.

It is always nice to hear how people avoid getting looped up in Ableton. I have sworn to go soft synth only from now on but what you said about the Push makes me wonder if I should try one instead of trackpad only.

A friend of mine told me this is an awesome, creative, supportive and diverse community. I’ve been on the Muff forum for many years, but have really gotten weary of the general energy there.
So I’d like to share a recent video collaboration with the Warhol Museum and my ensemble Eko Chamber Collective. The group is normally a 6 piece ensemble creating spacial performances in reverberant spaces, but because of the whole “situation” we were asked to do an “at home edition” with half of our group for the Warhol’s video series.
I did a 1 hour improvised rhythmic foundation and shot 2 camera angles. I then asked one of our bassists to select a section to build from, he recorded his part and shot 2 video angles, I added that and sent to the flutist and she created her part and video.
All the footage was sent to their editors and I completed the final audio mix.

My wife and I run a dance company and arts organization and I operate a recording studio and mentor young engineers/producers. A lot of things I guess.
