Put out another release under my CITYLIZARD project today

As before, it’s all lower-fi freeflowing kosmische… but this time spends more time on melody rather than noise. Additionally, while I had fun experimenting with super-low-fi recording techniques last time, this time I kept things a bit less crazy in that aspect!

Gear used: Make Noise system, Ekdahl Moisturizer, Norns, Nord Lead 2, Moog Grandmother.

Working almost more than a year now on this beast and finally got descent resuts. Donatella is the Nutella by Tesseract build for Buchla. This is a gamechanger for me because you can trigger 14 samples and control a lot of parameters via midi.

Guest appearance by the 2SR by Northern Light Modular.

All sound on these ambient/drone tracks, I made with Sundanese gamelan as only sound source. Transform it by modular synthesis.

We (Isn’tses) made a podcast featuring various artists using our Fort Processor synth, including something from fellow lines poster @DoS

Title preceded the music.

A very simple patch that began with Abstract Data Octocontroller, which triggers (not sequences) ALM Dinky’s Taiko and Akemie’s Taiko, as well as modulates 3 parameters of the later (Release 1, Release 2, Waves). During recording, I tweaked Akemie’s Ratio and Ratio CV amount. ALM Pamela’s NEW Workout modulates Dinky’s Start Freq and is the timing source.

Thanks for including my piece on this - what an amazing podcast and such a wide variety of sounds coming out of the Fort Processor from all the contributors. Also the perfect soundtrack to the ultimately boring task of clearing out email folders.

Stayed up late tonight working on one single max patch to make the whole track :yum:

Shades of Kanye, I know, but I’ve tinkered with my undanceable_music release from last week:

This is a little duet between the Son of Storm Tide and the Tau Phaser.
A couple of VCO sequenced by the programmer that is arrythmically clocked by the Coupler of the SSG. etc…
SOST thru VCF 73 thru TAU thru DCSM

I’ve been enjoying texture and attempting to not force an idea and just follow. Tonight I drove Plaits in Two Operator FM mode with Sloths (attenuated through Maths and Blinds) into Erica Polivoks and out through Polymoon and Big Sky. The result was a nice drone so I recorded a passage and wanted to share.

I have to say, limiting myself in approach has allowed me to follow some simple ideas rather than immediately overthinking and killing them immediately. Also attenuating Sloths… don’t know why I didn’t think to try that before.

Not sure where to post this – its more about the video than the music.
Its a real time render with a lot of automation, I have included some very simple music that is also automated but only in a very basic way.

My last thing was to highlight this noise box I made with guitar strings and a contact mic, viewable here in the soundcloud preview pic. The violin-like track is an android app called Ether. The voice-overs are news bits chopped into a sort of future news – “President Pandemic” – thank you for listening -

Thanks for sharing. I’m going to read a bit more about Keith Fullerton Whitman. Currently a bit busy with other things, but I’ve downloaded your PD Patch and I hope to have a look at it soon.
