Awesome! Do you also have a bandcamp with more of your music?

Thanks! Glad you liked it!

Yeah, my band camp is here https://a773.bandcamp.com/

I’ve been focussing on the youtube channel since 2019, so the stuff on band camp is a bit older…

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed them. We’ll continue exploring this minimal setup and see where it takes us. Lots of fun.

Each track was recorded in one take, no overdubs or multi-tracking

Main tools used: Orthogonal Devices ER-301, XOR Electronics Nerdseq, Korg Volca Micro Modular, Mutable Instruments clones of Rings and Plaits.

Out on RD Recordings in December . Thanks for listeningTalking Shadows

This was lovely—the gorgeous sounds and views. Thanks so much for sharing!! I read the patch notes on the video, but if you had any other details to add, I’d be very curious to hear them.

A music video for my recent composition.
Also a collaboration with my wife who did a visual part and artwork.

Beautiful track! I think the title works, too(I prefer titles that leave me guessing so as to not pre-color my perception of it before i’ve listened to it, which is hard to accomplish over the internet because inevitably we all see the title or link before we click to hear it). :+1: :raised_hands:

Wonderful songs!
How much of your work is pre-sequenced by a sequencer like the Nerdseq and how much is improvised or generative?

There are parts that are not generative like the chord progression and the bass part. Other parts like the melodies are much more complicated and would fall into the generative category. For a melody I usually determine a set of notes to work with. Some notes will have higher probabilities of being used in the melody than others then there are hops, repeats and rests that are sequenced and those have different probabilities of occurring as well. Once all those things are set up melodies are generated that never quite repeat. Drums are similar to melodies. So I guess all but the bass and chords are setup to be generative, and all of that is done with Nerdseq.

Amazing! Thanks for the detailed explanation. I didn’t know that Nerdseq could be generative…

It has a lot of ways to set up conditions that will produce all kinds of variations, so I think it can be.
