I already shared this here: What are you listening to? so won’t say much as can read that post but figured I should share it here as excited by this set of releases.

These are from a friend Ian Stonehouse. Enjoy.

All sound of these ambient tracks made with modular synth, use only one module as sound source : Audible Instruments Macro Oscillator 2 / Mutable Instruments Plaits in VCV Rack.
Approach in minimalist direction, truth of the materials, and less effects.

.
Challenging and limiting in produce a sound experiment / music compositions by applying only one module as sound source, push the limit of creativity and sound design skill.
In a scenario of overwhelming number of modules, people often do not take the time to deepen and explore the creative possibilities of each gear/module they possess.

Full pop-disclaimer! :grinning:

I recently heard a single from a young local popband and felt it could be fun to do a remix. I have never taken on that kind of challenge before, so I gave it a try. My idea was to stay true to the storytelling of the song – so I kept the acappella almost untouched and focused on a building a groovy arrangement around it.

Here’s my remix:

And here’s the original:

An introspective late-night amble through deserted streets, over rivers and canals with the soft scent of autumn in the air. The sounds ebb and flow seamlessly throughout the entirety of the piece.

I found this on the harddrive. The bandcamp description says:

Performed live at home with an open window on the day of my grandmother’s funeral. May 2017.

The photo is from a box of old photos I found when I cleaned up her apartment.

Not technically a focused track or anything, but I recorded a video of my very first moments with the Montreal Assembly Count to Five. Nothing too deep, just my initial reactions to it.

After a complicated wire-in, I recorded a live jam on my Magnus chord organ through the Count to 5. Due to my inexperience with the pedal and it’s tendency to do surprising things, it was mildly hard to control at times. However, I’m very pleased with how textural it is and how well suited it is to my style of composition.

Reverb and slight delay added in post.

I created generative beats experiment patch, use Automatonism in Pure Data.

Automatonism is the name of both the software and the creative output of its developer, Johan Eriksson. A PhD student at Birmingham Conservatoire, UK, Eriksson works at the intersection of composition, performance and instrument design.

Here is almost two hours of older material that I either never finished or just abandoned at some point. And some textures and what not. I’m happy to still be able to share it. Loads of tape loops, tape manipulation, odd experiments and interesting sounds.
