I cleaned up the harddrive some more. 2.5 hours of abandoned and/or unfinished pieces or interesting recordings.

I made a patch with my eurorack setup and my dear friend, Ludvig Kennberg, recorded some drums to it. It’s such a joy to hear how the thing evolves when he’s recorded his stuff. I hope you’ll find it as good as I do.

Uploaded new collab track, blending of modular synth sound, granular synthesis of javanese gamelan, and spoken words / human voice.

Played 3 shows this weekend all in Northern Ohio. Pretty good time overall.
I was kind of an outlier on all of the shows but thankfully the reaction was generally pretty positive!

A noisy Lyra-8 jam inspired by the game I’ve been obsessed with lately and maybe a little by the “Sonic Edgelordery” thread

I have a Lyra-8 album coming out soonish, but it’s not generally this heavy.

I was listening to music by MoonDog, thinking - this is quite liberating, just explore a simple musical theme, rather than make a ‘song’ or a ‘track’. That’s how this started out: but I couldn’t stop myself from imposing a song structure onto it.

i put out an EP of ambient/droney stuff yesterday. Made with a mix of my eurorack setup and lots of digital sample manipulation. I have a problem with never actually finishing anything i work on so i decided to challenge myself to start from scratch and have a completed ep within 2 weeks. would love any feedback/constructive criticism anyone has

After an extended hiatus I’m finally back in the realm of people who actually release music instead of just stockpiling unfinished bits of it on their digital storage devices.

This is a track I actually created about 5 years ago but never played it to more than literally one or two people. Two friends who used to run one of the first labels I worked with heard it and insisted that I get it finished up, mastered and released which then turned into them starting up a new label and releasing it for me.

It’s very drum-heavy with a wealth of tape echo and although the component parts were crafted over some time, the actual finished orchestration of the piece was more or less captured in an afternoon some summers ago.

Generative modular beats in Pure Data.

Modular synthesis is akin to musical gardening: modules can spring to life and their interconnections suggest the formation of a sonic ecosystem. The act of patching is no different to playing any other instrument: it affords the opportunity to express oneself and directly engage with other people.

Another new sketch primarily focused on Just Friends/Crow/Norns/W//. Really amazed at the power of crow/just friends.

Ticking off another item from my 2019 Goals, I’ve released my first EP, a collection of four short pieces created using the Norns. Each track was a single take using one of the Norns scripts, recorded to Norns tape. Minimal post-processing was applied in Live to adjust levels, and cut out a section from one of the tracks.

One of my first recordings with my modular. Done primarily with a Verbos Harmonic Oscillator, Plaits, Three Sisters, and an OTO Bam

slowly returning to active musical service (even been tinkering with some Norns code - good chance fixes for Kria_MIDI before the end of the year and some new things too)

meantime - an improvisation with Otis, Virtual Ans and Una Corda
