here’s a few minutes from a recent live duo performance with vocalist theo bleckmann.
i’m on fender rhodes with modular processing and cassette loops, theo on voice and electronics.
2x Ansible, Arc, Grid. Making some 80s guitar sounds.
Two years ago I started to aimlessly make tunes on an iPhone app called Nanoloop. It was mainly an activity for the moments in life when you need a distraction, and a more creative alternative to just checking facebook or playing games. A lot of the material that resulted was hence more on the silly side, plus Nanoloop tends to channel you into making more 4/4 beat-oriented stuff. I think I also used this as a way to counterbalance my more noise/impro related musical projects.
Later I started to record these little sketches to the DAW and rearranged them a bit.
I did release a first small EP with the more cheerful/dancy/pop ones, and am now in the process of releasing the more experimental ones, where I tried to actively go against what the app was trying to make me do. The amazing Akirasrebirth made a cool oscillographics video for one of the tracks, which I post here as a little teaser (which ironically is the most 4/4 one of the bunch).

has “timelessness” effect or time is very present and can be felt…great video for the track too.
In corridors of dream where I finally tell you my name
Ketamine rhythms from a transient dream
This gives me that feeling of presence or an approaching entity…or an entity approaching where you are…very sci fi ala Gibson.
Last TT composition on 1.4 – so excited to see how 2.0’s P.N ops and sub commands will continue to evolve this code (posted in vid description). Delayed M-synced triggers and a manual trigger from Walk into Just Friends Plume. Randomized slow slew voltages feeding Optomix, which is damming Dixie II+. Shades keeps a Plume trigger open for sustaining notes.
Originally written in TidalCycles, which is a very fun way to brainstorm TT code when away from the rig.
Getting to know Arc and Ansible. Arc/Cycles controls wave tables on the Piston Honda Mk. 2 and Density, Pos, Size, and Freeze on Clouds in Spectral Processor mode.
freshly uploaded. was in the mood for some gritty hip hop textures. made it with a grid, a sp-303 and samplr.
