so I’m new here, what exactly is LCRP? I’ve gathered it’s some sort of music challenge thing using only crowdsourced samples? is that right?

Yup, that is right. The OP explains it all. Send 2 samples before 28 January to the OP, he will than send all the samples to the participants, than we have 1 month to do what we’re good at(or think we are) and make a song/noise from them. It sounds like fun.

ooh I was worried I wouldn’t be able to do this because I really wanted to submit for the made of wood compilation 3 but now that I’m done with that I’m sure I can pull some sounds together

Thanks for your samples today.
We’ve got 33 (!) people who signed up for this LCRP out of which 8 have submitted their samples so far.
Probably a good time to bump the thread and have people start working on theirs.

I signed up but have been preoccupied and not feeling particularly creative. Still, I shouldn’t over think this and just spend a couple hours one night making samples.

I send in 2 short samples, left over from that day. Afterwards I realized they’re even not noisy. I didn’t think about it. Anyway, people can make them noisy. Now, I don’t even remember my own samples cos I deleted them already.
4 more days of waiting, very exciting!

i am pretty blown away by the response so far. we’ve got 35 (!) people who have signed up.
out of these 35 people, 13 have already submitted their samples to me, and they are all gorgeous.

to be on the safe side, i am listing the users who have already sent their samples below.

I haven’t done one of these in so long, the last time it began with an M rather than an L.

The first MCRPs I participated in resulted in the breaking of a creative block that was quite solid. The exercise in limitations and working to deadlines produced incredible results for my audio practice. The very first MCRP led to more community involvement, which led to playing live, which led to recording and releasing music with other artists in the same crew.

This then led to other creative paths and the sound has grown quiet for a span. It’s time to turn up the volume again.

I dipped into Lines looking for something to bite into and make noise. I found an LCRP waiting to be joined. To say I’m excited to hear what we all create is an incredible understatement.
