. Got my battery pack coming this week. I’ll get up and do a test run and make sure the sun will be there at 6:30am! Edit: And make sure there is a strong enough uplink

here’s a poster for the upcoming live stream, feel free to share. I did it with the expectation/willing into being those two later spots will be filled

I’m hesitant to put my name down again for this since I did the first stream, but in case we run out of oceanics, I’ll put my name down for the last slot  Am happy to move off if there’s more interest from others though!

howdy howdy, is there a small slot left still for my initiative? thanks so much!

this is such a cool and inspiring idea - go lines!

once i am a little more comfortable with playing some improvisational/longform pieces on my model:cycles (hopefully within the next couple of months) i will jump at the chance to participate.

I did my location scouting this morning and confirmed the sun clears the horizon at 9pm UTC

That means I will need to extend with an extra spot, correct? No problem at all! So excited for this. Anyone else based «east» that wants a spot?

I think the current last slot will work well actually, I dm’d @samarobryn earlier to see if we could do a little swap of those two slots. Otherwise no big deal. there’s still light before clearing the horizon and it’s all very weather dependent.

Nice! Also, having the last slot means you can go beyond the allocated 20 mins

Don’t make me too nervous! haha I just hope it works

Haha. No worries. I might do a stream from the family cabin porch this week to test streaming over LTE. Will keep you posted in the streaming thread.

I’ve swapped places with @dansimco

I think it actually might be a nice segue since it’ll be around 4am my time when I start my set, so hopefully there’ll be some interesting pre-dawn sounds from me before dansimco’s dawn set

For the overlay video, I found that I couldn’t play the ProRes 4444 format MOV file on my Ubuntu 20.04 system. (I can probe/manipulate it with FFmpeg, but OBS Studio, VLC, etc. won’t play it.) It turns out WebM supports alpha channels (like ProRes 4444) and has a ā€œlosslessā€ encoding option, so I did a conversion with these settings and tested the output in OBS Studio. Alpha and FPS are preserved with a final filesize around 8MB. Here’s the FFmpeg command I used: ffmpeg -i overlay_animation.mov -c:v libvpx-vp9 -lossless 1 -auto-alt-ref 0 overlay_animation.webm

I thought I’d share this in case anyone wants to weigh in or it helps someone else using Linux. I’m working with @tyleretters on visuals for 2.0, and I plan to use my WebM output instead of the MOV. I can’t upload the WebM due to being a new user but happy to share if anyone wants to review.

Video is such an intense craft.

Hi! I’m sorry everyone, I have to drop out of my slot. My wife surprised me with a little vacation to a cabin out in the woods for my birthday so I’ll be out of town this Saturday. Would be a perfect spot to stream from actually but I have no idea what the WiFi situation is out there but I don’t think it’s good enough for streaming audio.

Taking my name off the schedule now. So sorry!!

I am going to have to beg off. I was going to do a complete video stream with visuals etc. I have reached a point where through testing - I needed one more piece of equipment and I won’t be able to order and integrate it in time. I have removed myself from the slot. Sorry.
