Just wanted to say that I like the idea and it would be so much fun to play alongside/hang with other line members so I added my entry to the doc  The only thing is that I don’t have external camera and don’t feel comfortable with having the built in one pointed at my face so I would probably code some visuals for stream if that is ok.

Whatever works for you(Im the same way, top down camera for me, always)! That goes for everyone, no prerequisites in how you decide to perform/contribute.

Good idea. Do you mean, like a name on the screen or something else?

Yes—the artist’s performing name, so viewers can follow them/find their music.

Will make some mockups of this late this week/weekend. Unless anyone is feeling the urge to design something

Any input on what to stream between sets? My only idea is to make some posters that say who’s up next, and have the complete schedule. Maybe while I have a playlist running from Spotify into MLR or Compass or something running in the background(kind of stole that idea from @LEAVING_RECORDS).

Hi again all.

Working with graphics tomorrow, will hopefully have something to show(baby’s sleeping patterns are a bit off, makes working with stuff after bedtime a bit harder).

Now, I might need some help. Mainly during the main event. Unless I find a way to schedule it so that I don’t have to stay up until late night/early morning. Maybe I can split responsibilities of handling the stream with someone in the US? I’ll try to make a schedule based off time zones this weekend as well.

I’ll DM the test crew for next weekends test.

All the best and stay safe!

can I still add my name to the list?

Just added my name to the list. I have actually just started live streaming via twitch with some friends here in Seattle every Friday night and, despite not fully understanding twitch it has been working pretty well.

same here, actually. what software do you use for your live streams?

OBS is what Im using, and it was also relatively straightforward. I was able to set it up basically right before the first time I went “live”.

Alright cool, same here. My only issue with Twitch is that I cannot remove the tag that says something like “Rhythm Game” or something like that…

That is a permanent tag of “Music and performing arts” for some reason. And not to late to put yr name on the list

Cool, because I already went ahead and did so after I saw @Whatwetalkabout add theirs

By the way @noiserock I’ll be available on the 26th for the test run. What time zone will we all be referencing regarding scheduled time slots come May 10th?

The set up for the live-streamed Resonant Frequencies show is:

The basic idea is that is uses nginx-rtmp to manage streams, and OBS on the server to composite with overlays, and do cut scene transitions. To do this you need a server in the cloud that has a GPU - which is not too expensive on gCloud, for example.

Details are (slowly) being written up in this Google doc.

Small suggestion: Don’t have the animation “reverse back”, as it is somewhat distracting when it does: Things that “unexplode” have a way of grabbing users attention, as you want to “see it all come together”. So just have it disapate/fade out when “exploded”… wait a few seconds, and then fade back in small in the corner — and loop.

Great suggestion! Many thanks.
