Just call it “audience participation” :smiley:

Really digging @junklight - sounding like ghost evensong in a derelict chapel out on the moors…

edited for typo

would be nice to figure out a fadeout to the thankyou screen at the end of a performer, although not sure how that works on the sending side.

at the moment, unfortunately it does not. But all in all I feel like this went fairly smooth.

as we wind down from this absolutely wonderful collection of sets from the best test crew one could ever ask for, remember that sign ups are still open. don’t be shy, will update you on Tuesday on how we go about with scheduling this.

Remember that the lines community stream is not for music exclusively.

You can:
solder, paint, draw, code, dance, read, hike etc. whatever you want. as long as it is not too time consuming. However you want to contribute.

Stay safe everyone.

Here’s a better video link for me, it chops out the 45 minute pre-roll I was streaming:

Enjoyed that immensely–great and interesting performances everyone. @noiserock for the May 10 stream, do we have a starting time? Thanks.

I need to do the math, and see how much total running time (+ breaks and unforseen extra time) the stream will have. Might have time to do it later today. But roughly estimated 4/5pm UTC.

Still riding high on yesterdays stream. Had a long stroll with the baby today in pouring rain and still had a big smile on my face due to how well I felt the stream went. Thank you again to everyone who contributed and everyone who watched.

Now, back to business.

I sat down and did the math.

Currently we are at about 9,5 hours of great community content(including quick changeovers).

What I am thinking is that we have the stream on May 10th, as previously stated, from 6pm to 4(ish)am UTC.
This is dependent on me getting someone to co-host the stream with me, as I can’t(as much as I would love to) stay up until early morning hosting. Does this sound like an OK time for everyone?

I will make a new spreadsheet in the form with timeslots, will hopefully have this up and running tomorrow. What you need to do is go in, and claim your time slot. If another user has the time that works best for you, please message the user directly and see if you can work something out.

Will also continue to do some testing on how to get everything working as smooth as possible this week.

I also wanted to add that this can be a thing that continues beyond the May 10th event, I am not the sole “owner” of the twitch account. We all are.

I probably can’t make the 10th work as I’m already doing a stream on the 8th. But I’d like to participate in the future!

Hi again everyone.

To make this work as smoothly as possible I think it is(but please correct me if I’m wrong) best to divide this stream over 2 days. Mainly so I can host and arrange everything for everyone, and simplify hosting. So what I propose is that we do this on Saturday May 9th, 5.00pm - 8.10pm UTC(we’ll be finished just as the Leaving Records stream begins) and Sunday May 10th, 5.00pm - 11.00pm UTC.

Is this OK for everyone? I have made a schedule(second page of the spreadsheet), you can now claim your time slots.

Eagerly awaiting your responses.

Gave importing lines_overlay.zip a go - I was able to get the text overlay working, but the video didn’t seem to import correctly. I was able to edit the asset in OBS and point it to the correct video though.

Looking at the JSON file, I think the hardcoded absolute path is the issue:

"settings": {
    "local_file": "/Users/oysteins/Downloads/lines_overlay/overlay_animation.mov",
    "looping": true
},

I tried ./overlay_animation.mov and just overlay_animation.mov and still couldn’t get it to import, there might be a different another syntax for referencing relative files?

Thank you!
I’ll look into it. worst case is that everyone needs to edit the asset path in OBS.
mind sending me/posting a screenshot just to confirm that it looks as intended?

There’s probably a way to get a relative path to work, but I just changed that absolute path to the absolute path on my own computer and it imported fine for me. Appreciate that you even included the font! I’ll be broadcasting from my Linux machine because it actually has an Ethernet port, but I haven’t taught it much about typography yet.

I did have to resize it to fit the 1600x900 default resolution OBS chose when I first set it up (I know nothing about OBS and have just said OK to all defaults so far).

Also: definitely glad you’ve suggested breaking the stream up into two days. I wouldn’t mind doing it over a few weeks, really, but I also like the idea of a little streaming festival.

also also, if it’s helpful to anyone: I got the OBS iOS Camera Source plugin to compile on Arch using this branch and some tips here and here.
