I watched this as part of Sheffield Doc Fest, well worth watching.

Gi aiueosu: Tazan no ishi o motte onore no tama o migakubeshi (2017)

Using their sound and film equipment like musical instruments, the members of the band GUI AIUEO:S create an audiovisual work of art. On their journey, they search for UFOs, meet odd hermits, and are introduced to the sustainable toilet. Go SHIBATA, winner of the 2011 NIPPON VISIONS AWARD, presents an eccentric performance-roadmovie-documentary

haven’t watched yet, but looks like my kind of thing

Lightning Bolt: The Power of Salad & Milkshakes

(they are “electronic” enough for this thread in my books, even tho they are kind of not obviously)

The first time I saw Lightning Bolt in Providence I was 15 and had no idea what a DIY venue was never mind that I was going to one when I asked my dad to drop me off. I just knew that I liked loud noise music and Brian Chippendale’s art. I think the venue was called The Living Room but I’ve had a hard time finding a search term that doesn’t bring me to DIY furniture so idk really. Their set at around midnight (and the hours of unexpected openers) really made an impression. I’ve seen them a handful of times since but I miss when they played on the floor in the crowd.

sorry to hear it’s been hard to find for me too, hopefully I find time this weekend to watch it

I watched this when it was showing at Sheffield Doc/Fest, it’s well worth a view if you have the opportunity.

I am organizing a Professional Development Diversity credit course at our college in MD and we’re going to show it next semester. It’s a great doc --simply lovely to watch. i would love an entire doc on Laurie Spiegel all by herself let alone the the other titans in Lisa’s film
