The first time I saw Lightning Bolt in Providence I was 15 and had no idea what a DIY venue was never mind that I was going to one when I asked my dad to drop me off. I just knew that I liked loud noise music and Brian Chippendale’s art. I think the venue was called The Living Room but I’ve had a hard time finding a search term that doesn’t bring me to DIY furniture so idk really. Their set at around midnight (and the hours of unexpected openers) really made an impression. I’ve seen them a handful of times since but I miss when they played on the floor in the crowd.

I am organizing a Professional Development Diversity credit course at our college in MD and we’re going to show it next semester. It’s a great doc --simply lovely to watch. i would love an entire doc on Laurie Spiegel all by herself let alone the the other titans in Lisa’s film :slight_smile:
