I’m playing a little improvised set tomorrow for Sonic State, in the absence of Superbooth this year. At least it means you won’t lose your voice, or catch the obligatory cold there

I’ll be chatting with the host Nick afterwards and answering questions too. Hope some of you might be able to tune in. And if you miss it, I’m sure it will remain on their feed.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

Saw one of the shows at The Beacon last November and caught the film last night - really great stuff. Loved the format of the film: bouncing between interview, rehearsal, and performance.

I’m taking part in a livestream on Ned Rush’s YouTube channel tomorrow (Saturday the 25th), playing modular, Sidrax, Deercocodeer and glockenspiel. It’s at 8pm UK/3pm Eastern US.

Any money raised during my set will be given to Asheville Survival Program, a local mutual aid group that has sprung up in the time of COVID. :fist: Ned has generously offered to match donations, and I plan to match the resulting total, to the best of my ability.

Congrats!! I caught your WITH show at the Ryman - loved hearing the arrangements with the full band. Looking forward to watching the film.

Saturday - day off & catching up with YouTube stuff I’ve not had time for. There is a really interesting segment on Sonic Talk ep 616 about promotion/streaming/gigs etc

Got me thinking though about a number of things - first one is that my YouTube streams and videos get a bigger audience than the album I put out this week (now part of that is by crap marketing but I think it’s also part of a trend in general) but the second is that streams have the same issue as all other music: discoverability

All of which leads me to:

I guess there is a new role to be found here - one I guess we kind of see in online festivals a bit but curation of related streaming artists in the same way record labels or nights in bars or clubs might do

be really interesting to see how this develops

Gosh - already a month since the first one we did the first one…

Resonant Frequencies 027
Experimental Electronic Open Mic

https://resfreq.live/027
May 3rd, 2020
6pm PDT

Resonant Frequencies is a monthly open mic night specifically for Experimental Electronic Musicians and Composers, accompanied by live Visual Synthesis with a focus on real time generation and performance.

This show is produced in the cloud, with all musicians and visual artists streaming from their homes, mixed in our cloud control room, and streamed live.

We schedule 10-12 musicians to play 10-15 minute sets, and pair them with visualists for live collaboration.
Call for Oakland/SF Bay Area affiliated artists (we’re pretty loose about this!): https://resfreq.live/signup

Hi all! 24-HOUR DRONE, the annual concert at Basilica Hudson in Hudson, NY, was obviously cancelled this year, but my partner Ola and I were invited to participate in their alternate livestream event. The main wrinkle for us, besides zero livestreaming experience, is our very temperamental rural internet service. In anticipation of glitchy video, we shot a video on a Hi8 camcorder to transmit, which we would then “live-score”. The video is below, it’s sort of a spooky, lofi nature video. Special appearance by our cat Stripey.

i’m trying out a lil stream right now if anyone wants to stop by, nothing fancy just giving it a test run  https://www.twitch.tv/renegog (goin till my tape echo runs out :stuck_out_tongue: )

Edit: done now but no one told me i was coming out only on the left side  gotta remember to set it to mono next time lol this is why we test

I have been enjoying everyone diving into the streaming and love seeing set ups and focus on using them for performing.

I have a question on how people go about doing the live stream shows with multiple artists playing one after each other? Are people performances prerecorded and then streamed or how does the switching between artists in the live stream?

I’m gonna play with Claire Cronin on this orindal records / babysallright stream, may 7, 8[m EST

Hello everyone.

I made a live performance from my studio yesterday which is now viewable online. A largely improvised set using Mroztronium Grackler, Ciat-Lonbarde Cocoquantus 2, Lorre-Mill Double Knot, Meng Qi Gesture Arcade, SqrtSigil X_Rollz and a few other joys that are easier to pronounce

@chapelierfou - you can use OBS software, which is commonly used by streaming DJs.

And OBS has an iOS app which lets you connect wirelessly to your Mac or PC running OBS. This app isn’t developed by OBS, however it is recommended by them.
