Anybody pick one of these up? The perfect circuit demo vid is really doing it for me!

Have you attempted the PMF build yet? If so got any videos of it?

Not yet, I had way too much work recently but I prepared the papercircuit a few days ago and ordered the components I was missing. I hope to have some free time to build it this month, will report back when it’s alive

Didn’t have presence of mind to record it, but setup the Mosstone to drive pitch of both Double knot oscillators, Mosstone env out into both DK holds. Got em all tracked and tuned and wowwee. I’ll try to get the patch back together and record it.

Would really love to hear that if you do manage to record it!

What is a calossum? Haven’t heard of that one.

http://lorre-mill.com/callosum double double knot with a modular mixer / fx bit in the middle. Sadly can’t find any video/audio demos.

ugh, I didn’t think I wanted a Mosstone, but it sounds great paired with the DK.

Awesome! Killer vids, really like the choice of fx it gives a really full sound from just those two instruments.

Beautiful little clips. The second one is just beautiful! Great to hear these in action together

Fantastic. I idiotically got so excited on YouTube I posted a question there, but we’re both here…
Were you using DK as master clock on these?

Hahaha. It’s all good. Thanks for watching! Yes, the DK is the master clock in those videos.

need your help as I want to order one and need some cables with it.
which cable length would be sufficient for the mosstone - only ā€œself-patchedā€ without any other equipment - could not find the dimensions of the mosstone to find that out myself?
are those buchla 5" (12,7 cm) enough or should get also some 10"(25,4 cm)?
thanks a lot!

The mosstone looks really small. You’re probably fine with just 5" cables. Check your price point though, as you might as well get longer cables for future expansion. Also, modularaddict.com has banana cables now in all kinds of sizes and colors.

Sorry to bump this old conversation, but I miss more talk about the Mosstone!

How do people tune it? In specific scales…? I know it’s done with turning the trim screws, but any hints, systems… its a little intimidating for someone who never has messed with the tunings in such free manner. I managed to get it very untuned sounding so far

It can get tricky indeed. One thing I learned that wound up being very helpful was to not expect to keep 1V/Oct tuning while also having the keypad tuned to a scale that is wider than an octave (like pentatonic major). Also go in order, left to right when making adjustments, since one will affect the other. And some kind of digital tuner is necessary for me at least. I hope some of this helps.
