Unyielding Love are excellent. I saw them supporting Full of Hell in London and they were wicked

I’ve been blown away by the new stuff Haken is putting out! Nightingale and The Alphabet of Me are huge!

I have been really enjoying One Step Closer. Melodic Hardcore band from PA.

The song Dark Blue is really catchy.

Anyone got any thoughts on the new FOH/Primitive Man record? Just put it on and seems pretty solid so far (as expected)

I like Tool a lot, but it feels like they only delve into metal. It’s a piece of their puzzle, but the bigger element seems to be prog.

Their first record was really heavy, and would probably qualify. But they haven’t made a record like that since then.

I found Danny’s modular synth / drum solo track on their latest album to be pretty amusing. From what I’ve seen on his website and from photos posted by Peter Grenader, he’s got quite the collection of keyboard and modular synths. I’m honestly surprised they aren’t used more on Tool recordings, as they’d provide some interesting textures that aren’t part of Adam or Justin’s usual guitar and bass sounds.

Thanks so much for sharing this, been on a big nostalgia kick lately and these guys remind me SO MUCH of what was going on in like a hundred midwestern scene dive bars in the early 00s, only like… good.

Just listened. Solid indeed. Love the crackling feeling on top of Trepanation of Future Joys." great track title, too. I wasn’t aware of Full of Hell, but now I have some listening to do.

Oh man! They are awesome. Don’t expect more Primitive Man style stuff though; they’re pretty fast. My favourite track is Fox Womb from the Code Orange split

start your morning right! with this epic operatic classic(i used to listen to all the time when i was 13-14 years old  )

“In the sky a mighty eagle
Doesn’t care 'bout what’s illegal” (<-SEE how they rhyme ‘eagle’ with ‘illegal’… :pinched_fingers: GENIUS! …Kendrick Lamar and William Faulkner could have a baby and it wouldn’t be anywhere near as erudite with poignant literate designs such as this ())

[warning: listening to this song may cause momentary lapses of reason and tendencies towards not knowing the difference between good-taste and poor-taste ()]

Metal has been a huge part of my teens! Spent some wild summers at Obscene Extreme in Trutnov, CZ or Brutal Assault @ Josefov fortress, CZ too.
Lately I listened to these:

Dream Unending - Tide turns eternal
Bauhaus meets Isis death/doom.

Lamp Of Murmuur - Submission and Slavery
Siouxsie meets black metal with a touch of Amebix- Monolith’s atmosphere! Yummy!

Noothgrush / Corrupted - Split LP
Classic sludge/doom. Slow, painful and tar-soaked. Best served in isolation.

This just blew my mind, as it was totally unexpected kind of Amenra for me:

Edit: Discovered them through their collab with Kreng a few years ago

This is really good. Never really listened to Amenra tbh, but know of them through the link to Oathbreaker

Amenra has this heavy energy, as if it is physical weight. Sometimes it is exactly what I need to get back on the ground. They play live in April over here in Germany, but it will be in a huge concert hall with a lot of other bands. I prefer small venues, such as an cruiscin lan in Cork back in the days (many great gigs, very close to the musicians, shaking hands with Gaahl kinda close).
Wreckmeister Harmonies is also one to check out for the heavy as in lourd.
Thanks @smonthms for remembering me of Oathbreaker!
