hi pablo,

sorry to hear about the troubles! the steps in the troubleshooting guide assume “normal” circumstances, which this definitely seems outside – you should not have to use a terminal command to kickstart serialosc and quitting Max shouldn’t unload serialosc.

  • do serialosc-detector and serialoscd both show up in Activity Monitor after you execute launchctl load /Library/LaunchAgents/org.monome.serialosc.plist?
  • if yes, do serialosc-detector and serialoscd both disappear from Activity Monitor after you quit Max? when do they disappear?
  • have you tried using grid with another program other than Max, perhaps Mark Eats?
  • did you perform the 3rd step in the troubleshooting guide? what FTDI drivers do you have installed?
  • by chance, do you have any Wacom drivers installed?

happy to help troubleshoot through email, as well: help@monome.org

hi dan,
thanks for your answer.
it seems that now everything is working with serialosc. the first couple of times i had to kickstart it through the terminal, not anymore though. not really sure what changed.
