stunning stuff Walker and bravo @ebremot this sounds like a supremely musical module.

the music in this video reminded me of this:

Really looking forward to exploring this - it“s my first delay module and I“ve got it on preorder.
Any day now

They have arrived!!!

Breaking my own rules and skipping the manual for a few days… first hands on impressions are: oh wow! Modulate everything!!!

Some controls take time for their effect to become apparent in your sound, especially with longer delay times/zones making for some beautiful blooming textures.

The gate out is a really cool feature, while modulating zone & urate/doppler & rate, the pulse train coming out of it can get quite complex. Might have to set up w/ to record cv to keep them around for later.

Jealous! Where did you purchase from (if you don’t mind me asking)? I have yet to receive a shipping confirmation on my preorder from Control Voltage

Here’s a fun 80-ish-minute-long live-patching video from @fourhexagons, centered around the Mimeophon, along with Zadar and one of the newer modules from Noise Engineering (Quant Gemi):

I’m lucky enough to have ctrl in Brooklyn as my friendly neighborhood synth shop. I think they’ve got some from this round of stock that are available without having pre-ordered. There’s also one racked up there for demo

Super jealous! Enjoy! My Control preorder won’t ship until today :sob:

I made the mistake of not preordering, waiting for Knobcon even though it’s really just a formality and I’m 100% sure I’ll pick one up.

I pre-ordered mine from Sweetwater, but totally should have just pre-ordered it at Control (especially because it’s on my way home from work). Regardless, it’s coming tomorrow and I’m excited to start patching it. Every video/preview that’s come out has further re-enforced just how fun this thing is going to be!

I just got a Zoia too, and while it will always be a be pedal existing in its own ecosystem, you can accomplish most of these general ideas in the Mimeophone with the Zoia. I would have jumped on the Mimeophone had I not got the Zoia but there’s so much to be explored with the Zoia that I think my GAS spark for the Mimeophone has not been initiated. After watching the video with Tom Erbe, it makes me want to mess around with the diffusion on the Zoia to get some halo type stuff going, and I haven’t done much with that yet.

I also always forget Zoia has CV in/out, seems like a great way to build out your own effects that integrate with the modular. I’m definitely one of those people who’s interested in music tools that allow you to define their own function but have always failed to kinda put the time in on that front, so Mimeophon is a nice little package of discoverability for me, but might keep Zoia in my field of vision!

The thing that’s great about the ZOIA in the realm of defining your own function is that if you’ve spent any time with the modular, there’s very little learning curve. The thought behind the pedal is almost identical to patching with a modular. I was up and running with a pretty large patch witin an hour or two. Its the most straight forward UI I’ve encountered for this type of thing. The only thing that would make it better is more CV ins and outs.

The Mimeophone looks rad too, but its definitely a curated experience, which I love too. Two different types of things.

I too got about 2:30 in, when he started discussing the Effectron, that I started thinking about how to set that up in the Zoia.

But having the Zoia has also made me appreciate having the immediacy of amazing kit like the Mimeophone: it’ll take some time and thought setting up the Zoia to emulate it.

Almost better since you have a built-in attenuator/amplification for each connection.

I knew about Skew and Ping-Pong, but had totally missed out on Swap. Really excited to try all of these modes, my Mimeophon arrives tomorrow!
