When you get the chance to say more about the specifics please be sure to mention the Halo effect, I can’t get over how cool that sounds! I just wanna dunk my head in those sounds ugh

Gate was my guess too, I was wondering how it works, if it’s just a regular steady clock out set by delay time (or division/multiplication based on external clock) or if it sends out triggers at the exact time and quantity of delays - so also influenced by feedback setting. It would be really cool if it’s the latter.

I’m generally quite happy 5 years behind the curve. This thread is making me gas for an echophon :hugs:

I know it’s early, but did any inquire what the power ask is? I presume something similar to Morphagene.

Just wanted to ping that the Make Noise Instagram account will have live streams this week with Tom Erbe as they finish the production firmware for Mimeophon - according to their stream yesterday.

Just thought some of you might like to know if you don’t use Instagram all the time.

Yeah tune in and catch Tom’s musings on nautical synth enclosures (buchla boat, euro skiff, serge barge) or what he’d name his son ( Herb Erbe). :stuck_out_tongue:

I was floored when I discovered MN’s Instagram page. I find their IG content more whimsical and poetic than their YT content (which is largely focused on instruction and incredibly helpful in its own right). Their VC Environment series in particular is a constant source of inspiration.

they show up in the “stories” circles with a little “live” icon - if you miss a livestream it should say something like “was live 2hrs ago”

If you’re following them, you can also choose to turn on notifications when they go live. In the iOS app, go to their profile page and tap the “Following” button. In that menu should be Notification settings. Hopefully similar if you’re not on iOS.

While I agree that kind of chat is inane and unproductive, I feel like that’s going to exist to some extent no matter what platform they stream on, right? And obviously people posting “take my money” etc. is not something Make Noise can control. I watched the stream and it was a fascinating if not brief glimpse into the development process of the module, to see how they are still working on the implementation of karplus-strong with Mimeophon. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen another maker open up their process like that to that public by way of livestream, so I appreciated it and am looking forward to more.

The chat can be useful if the people running it are watching it, but as you noted this stream’s focus seems to be more “a glimpse of their process” rather than answering questions.

I came for the karplus-strong synthesis, stayed for a while just to watch a bunch of highly inventive people geek out  and right at the end it sounded like the release date is very close.

Awwwwww I missed it. Are you aware of a recording of this stream? Or perhaps some more recent demos? I’m GASsing and it’s awful.

that’s the thing. i think it was meant to be ephemeral… very “instagram”

Can you watch Instagram streams without an Instagram account? One benefit to Youtube is that you don’t need an account or be logged in to watch something.

(inserts marketing strategy dissatisfaction emoji here)

They can archive their IG live streams but it doesn’t seem these streams are demos, just kind of behind the curtain views of their bug testing efforts. It’s a guarantee there will be demos and videos when they announce a release date, sounds like it may be close - yesterday Tony mentioned Walker was working on the manual, which would point to at least feature freeze and working on last bugs.

Control has pre-orders open.

Additionally, it’s live on the Make Noise website.

I really hope the depth is 30mm including the power cord this time. (Morphagene is supposed to be 30mm too, but is a bit deeper with the power cable)
I’ll probably get it either way, but it would be nice to be able to fit it into a normal 4ms Pod.
