The interview with Tom Erbe made me turn the corner on the Mimeophone. Walker does an amazing job with his demos, but his style of music is so different, it can be hard to figure out if a module will fit with my practice. Hearing Tom’s comments on his intent and influences convinces me Mimeophone is versatile tool with a design aesthetic I like. My biggest concern was how Tom set up the input gain staging–and it looks like a better system with four discrete levels–as opposed to the auto-leveling system in Morphagene.

Thought the exact same thing.

They’re gonna sell a lot of these.

I think I’ll wait for the inevitable early adopter to rage-sell theirs once they discover it doesn’t brew good coffee. Save a few bucks that way.

The Mimeophon Synth / Dual “Osc” Skew / Time Machine portion of the video is especially inspiring.

It’s everything I could wish in a delay. Astonishing.

It’s even better than I was hoping for. :astonished:

I was trying to hard to not want this but loopop’s demo sealed the deal for me.

This module tipped me over the edge into starting a eurorack system tbh. Every new demo gets me even more excited for my pre-order to ship.

Damnit, this isn’t helping my GAS at all. Welp…

I loved interview with Tom Erbe. It’s fascinating to see inside the door of creationand hope that Make Noise do more of these videos. It also got me into the Mimeophone due to Toms love of Terry Reilly. Now I really would love one but already own a Magento and Rainmaker.

Yeah, had to pre-order this. Been waiting for a stereo euro delay with real CV control that sounds as a good as a rack delay. Actually can’t wait to try it on vocals.

Dronetone layering with Mimeophon!

We’ll take a droning DPO, hand-sequence it with René, process it in stereo with the Mimeophon, and then travel to Zone 7 for long-form harmonic layering.

When you put it in zone 7 and it regurgitates the past is so awesome. WANT.

Hot cram, that’s great.

Yeah I’m getting one for sure. It and Morphagene will be the sonical centerpieces of the 4U system I’ll be putting together.

Here’s a concept that relies on the Mimeophon+Morphagene combo pretty heavily. That 2HP blank on the left is a Crow placeholder. This is about as monstrous a 3U126HP as I can imagine. I’ve dropped in an XPan and XOH because I want to be modern. The little guy to the left of Mimeophon is a Ferry, dual-channel external thingie (like an ALM SBG).

This is gorgeous. Between Loopop’s video and this one I have no doubts that this is the right delay multi-whatsit zone repeaty thinger for me

My plan is to downsize from already pretty modest 6U system which is built as kind of modular groovebox, to 4U system designed more as a coherent instrument for sonic exploration and experimenting. More akin to a ultramodern tape-studio and noise machine than a pretty traditional synthesizer. Modulargrid plan

I suspect Mimeophon, Morphagene and w/ would make one hell of a trio for finding new sounds in familiar places. My plan is to treat w/ as a large foundation of sounds both from the system and also fed to it from outside, and then taking snippets from there with the Morphagene, sending stuff back and forth through Mimeophon and using it as a voice too. And a lot of modulation of course. BIA is kind of outlier in this system, but I just can’t get rid of it. I need those huge techno kicks and crazy percussions.

A thing Mimeophon lacks is send and return jacks to insert QPAS inside Mimeophon.
