I did a little editing on the ReneMaster.amxd and auto focus seems to be working on it for me. Here’s all I added:

I’ve had a terrible time trying to edit the ReneMonomeSat 0.12.amxd file though. If I try and alter anything in it it breaks. Now I am getting a max crash when trying to open it to edit it in m4l as well.

I’m real good at mucking everything up trying to learn max! It’s real fun. :grin:

@jasper_ryder thank you for posting your modifications!!
I have played around with it yesterday and added the autopattr function as in the monome terms patches, this maintain your set of notes when you reload live.
But in this patch there is an issue:
Autofocus works but if you change the time division of the renome, then you move to another track, the renome initialise itself and return to the initial time division, not maintaining teh one you have set when moving away from the track.

This is a bit annoying as autofocus works but it is not possible to move track unless you work always with the initial time division.

I reckon the problem is in the renome satellite patch.
Everytime the monome disconnect it returns to the initial state.

@chapelierfou as you said the renome patch is a bit messy…:slight_smile:
can you just please pointing me to the section of the patch that controls the time division? maybe I can sort it out by myself tonight.

Thank you
Amazing patch anyway :smile:

By ‘the set of notes’ you mean the range i assume ? If so, thanks ! Does this fix the ‘unlit range row on load’ bug as well ?

And yeah, i know, the patch is messy. I am not really tidy, but you know…it works.
I am so happy that you guys are enjoying this. Sorry again for not giving full support. I’d love to work on this (oh my god i need to try it with Mutable Instruments Rings !) but i need to work on paid job.

@chapelierfou
Thanks for the prompt answer.

By set of notes I refer to the pattern you place on the monome, the x and y movement and the steps.

The unit range row is not fixed unfortunately and it is a bug still.

No problem for the support, I will try to do it myself whenever I found the time.
Paid work has always priority unfortunately.

Let’s see if we can make this an additional element to the monome arsenal.

Are you using M4L ? The chord selection, X Y direction and Gate pattern should be automatically saved within the liveset.

yes you are right. o_O
Sorry.

I will have a go with it and share what I have found in the next days

:smile:

@bassik,
I haven’t noticed anything strange using the m4l version I edited. I am not completely clear on what it is you are having a problem with either though.

Are you changing the BPM and then having the issue? Or is it just when you bounce around tracks no matter what?

Please keep posting on your progress!

@jasper_ryder this row does tempo division, it is always on a certain division when you use the patch.
With autofocus on, try to change tempo division and then go to another track that haev auftofocus on.
I have for example flin from monome terms on the adjacent track.

When I switch to terms, renome returns to the tempo division the patch was in when initialised.

maybe you do not notice it because you have never changed tempo division?

peace

Ok now I understand what you’re getting at! I will try it out and see.

@bassik,
Yes sir, you are correct. This is happening.

@chapelierfou @jasper_ryder

I think I have managed to correct it!!!
Have a try please and let me know :smile:

It was in the satellite patching, there was an “r init” that was always banging a number 4 from the list of the tempo division.

Now we still have two bugs in my view:

  1. the note range do not refresh when moving out of the track
  2. when using monome terms flin with renome, the columns that are used in flin are dimmed down

Now it is too late to look at them but I am happy I have (maybe) resolved the tempo issue.

@bassik @chapelierfou,
Something is not good on my machine I think. When I load your new edited version bassik I get this:….no rene dials and no notes.

I can only use the original version from chapelierfou. As you can see it loads fine and works, but as soon as I try to edit it, the dials disappear, and I have to delete and reload the original. I am frustrated. I think something gut mucked up between max and ableton. :worried:

Edit: tried deleting everything and reloading: getting this still from @bassiks

Same mistake as i did first : @bassik, you need to freeze the device before uploading.

@chapelierfou
Just checked my laptop and it has the same problem as @jasper_ryder.
I reckon that as soon as I unfreeze the device and modify it and then freeze it again and save (did it everytime I was modifying) it lose the bpatcher related to Renedial.

My idea is that Max do not find renedial.maxpat on my laptop and is unable to include in teh freezed device.

It would be great if you can send all the maxpat connected to the bpatcher in the patch (i reckon it is only renedial) so we can add this to a folder in our project path.

Thank you very much in advance.
:blush:

Hello,

I reckon I found the solution.
Attached monome sat and rene’dial.
Copy rene’ dial in your packages folder of max and you shall be ok.

RenéMonomeSat 0.13.amxd (824.7 KB)
RenéDial.maxpat (11.5 KB)

Still to be sorted:

  1. the note range do not refresh when moving out of the track
  2. when using monome terms flin with renome, the columns that are used in flin are dimmed down

I will look at them as soon as I have time (maybe sunday…)

Let me know if it works.

Hello,

Please see version 0.14 that also fix the range not showing issue (hopefully).
It will load up the patch with the full range enabled and then will retain the range when you switch track.
Please use the rene’dial.maxpat in my previous message if it will give you error.

Please let me know if it works, I am not an expert patcher, I just love this patch and I am trying to solve some minor issues that I have to say enhance the experience.

RenéMonomeSat 0.14.amxd (633.5 KB)

Hope it works.
I have played with it for an hour or so and I had no issues.
Peace

I’ll try it out tomorrow for sure and let you know.

Yes it is working very nicely for me. Thanks @bassik.

Good news !
Thanks guys for your work !

Great!!!

I am happy I have not screwed it up.
It is an amazing app and very inspiring to play…thanks @chapelierfou !!!

the last issue that remains is the question related to the dim light when you use flin!!!

Also I have found the same strange behavoiur when using re:mix by @elquinto

The flin issue is appearing also in monome sum and I have posted in the relative discussion.

Now time to play with renome and maybe think about some additional feature!!! :)grin:
