I finally racked my tELHARMONIC and it’s amazing! I have a ton to learn but I feel like I will have a lot of fun with it in my little case. Wish I had it back when I still had my Shared System!
love this in 20 characters!
I’ll record some this weekend! I had a nice patch going last night but the clap was too loud in the video I recorded!
It’s still patched so I’ll try and get a good recording sometime this weekend!
Any idea how he did this??
did some tests and it seemed like the key part of this is the modulation to “interval” which is slewing from major to diminished and back with every note change. follow the rest of the panel settings in the video and it’ll get you close, couldn’t quite tell what the modulation to flux would be.
Interval knob around 11 o’clock is the sweet spot here and heavily attenuated cv sweeps will get you into that zone.
STO and Telharmonic in my bus case too. Your mellow organic sounds are . Thanks for sharing the patch technique to keep things chill.
I’ve had one for a week and a 1/2 and I’ve been struggling a bit to really gel with it. Done some stuff I really liked (weird drones, steppy ascending/descending degree sweeps, extreme aliasing), but it seems like for the most part I’m not loving the inherent sound. Enjoying P more, N is a cool noise source, but H I’m pretty meh about not matter how much I modulate it.
Haven’t had any luck getting the trigger inputs (H Lock and D Gate) to add much yet, and still need to explore shift register mode. With a little patience I can get it to play in tune with others. Sequencing chords just seems really alien to me (I have had success with it, I just… don’t think I like it in theory).
This also leads me to another observation: I’ve been tending to spend time on the instruments I’m struggling with (and/or considering selling) trying to get something out of them rather than utilizing the stuff I actually like/am comfortable with.
Telharmonic can nerd-bomb you like that. It seems more oriented towards happy accidents and texture exploration. I like the shift register mode, sending the sound through an LPG. It seems to somehow work with Pressure Points but I don’t remember ever sequencing it well. Since I got Odessa, Telharmonic has sat in a small experimental case on the side. It’s easier to find something on it and build around it, than it is to fit it into an already built sonic arrangement.
I’m quite confused by it and mostly just faff around until I stumble on something cool…
But I’m keeping it because it’s even crazier than I am
