i’m not sure that i can change the way a filename is presented in the params menu, but i did make some adjustments to the way the filenames are shown “in app”. basically, filenames over 15 characters get folded into a star...end format.

i also made some slight adjustments to the grid drawing. nothing worth a new version number tho

@gnome666 glad that you are enjoying it!

I just updated to version 1.6
On the initial screen it says “error: init”

i had this, i had to reboot also i ran the latest norns update

I’ve had this error pop a few times while working on mangl. For whatever reason it seems to go away after a restart. So far I’ve been unable to figure out what causes it, though from errors in Maiden I think it has something to do with the params system. I’ll poke around more if/when I see it again.

update v1.7

  • adds LFO’s via hnds
  • modulation targets:
    • volume
    • grain size
    • grain density
    • spread
    • jitter

LFO params are at the bottom of the parameters menu.

This script just keeps getting better. LFOs are a game-changer.

Stop making this sound so cool, you’re gonna make me have to buy an arc!

you can always just use midi mapping! no need for an arc that way. and with grid control it will still be pretty performative

just got into this patch - so incredible! thanks for all the new features

LFO modulation of position would be really nice…

also, i was using the arc to control position on a pretty long sample and it feels like the sensitivity could be lower - it doesn’t really match “arc feel” of the other parameters.

on the grid, i had an idea that the sample position control could have an option to be set to “momentary” - so when you press on a position the sample plays, but only for as long as you hold it. when you let go it fades back out.

These are great suggestions! I’ll see what I can do

edit: I especially love this one

cooooool! glad you like the ideas

edit: one more! a basic filter for each voice (that can be slowly modulated?) - when playing around last night i found myself wanting to cut out some of the high end grit.

If anything, being able to set the sensitivity of each arc encoder would be sick.

+1 on knob sensitivity

This is just personal taste but I am finding encoder 1 - speed of change to be painfully slow. I don’t know if it’s heavy slew or not but find myself keep switching to alt 1 encoder for scrub speed much more because I like rapid changes. If there is a particular line in the code I can change for each knob slew parameter - so I can change myself?

I’ll review the Arc sensitivities

the arc encoder function is lines 626-648. encoder 1 is line 639

Perfect thank you! Some amazing additions you made on this script  I feel totally spoilt.

update v1.8

  • grid: momentary mode
    • hold alt and press a grid key in the buffer area to toggle latched/momentary mode per track
  • arc: there are now params for arc sensitivity - they are at the bottom of the parameter menu, so just keep scrolling

momentary mode was my secret wish  thanks mate!

I did the last update to version 191201 and now it works, maybe the problem was that! thank’s @Justmat

the LFOs are NEATO!
is a Sample & Hold waveshape possible?
:stuck_out_tongue:

i definitely want to add some more waveforms, and s+h would be a great one! the only thing standing in my way is maths
