Yea wow! Only played in sound mode so far and I really REALLY love it. Through 3sisters, and with some lfos slowing going… just letting it play here on its own and… well yeah its very nice.

wha wha whaaaaat!? so cool!

Well, it is a deep module, that’s for sure.
One thing I can attest to right away is that it’s an FM monster with no external oscillator needed. Sweet or atonal, you decide. For sweet just turn Intone fully CW and take your pick of the outputs to feedback into the FM.
It’s going to take a while to figure out the possibilities here, but it will be a lot of fun. As always with great modules, I want two already.

Wow! This looks to be a thoroughly beautiful module all over… I love this attention to detail! top notch!

sorry!
couldn’t help myself.
such a lovely surprise, and really an amazing module. only beginning to scratch the surface, but feeling inspired by it!
thank you!

Also, in my case, Just Friends is sitting between two Meng Qi DPLPGs, and they sound amazing together.
Really Close Friends you could say.

Posted this on Muffwiggler, but figured I may get a quicker response here too:

Having an issue, I’m curious if I’m just not understanding something…or if there’s an issue.

I have it set on SOUND/CYCLE and I have a random CV plugged into the FM input. No matter how I set the INTONE and FM, nothing is modulating. I could swear I did this on Friday when I first plugged it up, now no luck. Any thoughts? It works when I have it on SHAPE/CYCLE but I have to crank the TIME high to get it into audio register.

Responded over there, but for simplicity:
‘sound’ mode: FM is AC-coupled (only accepts audio inputs)
‘shape’ mode: FM is DC-coupled

You can offset TIME by +5volts (ie 5 octaves) to take it into audio range, though outputs are unipolar (0-8v).

Here’s short vid of some noodling with JF, nothing fancy, but what a cool and fun module to play with:

I’ll try to join in here as I was sending a few little doo-dads to friends today to show them the new addition.

Spill mode…I think!

If I’m going to throw together some sort of mutant techno set for a show in June, I may tinker with JF as an EG.

thanks glia, – fun to just start recording and see what happens. I think I was going to try and do a demo, but ended up just playing around instead.
