I’m using Just Friends w/a fairly full load of modules (6U / 84 hp), 4ms Row Power 40, and I’m getting a consistent, fluctuating high-pitched whine–JF doesn’t need to be patched, it’s the cause of the whine. Is this common, or a known characteristic (side effect) of Just Friends w/a cumulative high power draw? It sounds like somebody blow-drying their hair in a far off bathroom? Have others experienced this?

I’ll be able to test it (solely) w/my original Tiptop HEK power module in a week

That describes pretty well the PSU noise I’ve had in the past on weaker supplies.

If you have other high draw modules it’d be worth unplugging those to see if it eventually goes away, or plugging the JF directly into the Row Power without other modules. I’m running a JF on a Row Power 30, 104hp/6u without noise, but a fair bit of the case is taken up with passive modules so the overall draw probably isn’t huge.

I have a 104/6u with row 40 and heavily strained. My JF isn’t having any issues.

I got a JF new from Control about a week ago and the 2N light is about half as bright as the others. Otherwise, everything is working fine. Is this probably just a dud/wrong bulb, ie nothing to worry about?

A defective LED on a new module is a worthy reason to setup an exchange with the vendor, IMO. My 2N light is equal in brightness to the others.

iespecially at the cost of JF i would exchange as well. new should work like new. it’s tough to delay some satisfaction tho i’m sure
