We’re having manufacturing issues, but things are moving along, slowly. If I had a firm date I would tell you, but I simply do not. I wish we could be selling these modules too!

Thank you for the update! I lucked out and got a used one off Reverb for about the same price as new but I had to replace the fuses which caused some confusion with the transaction. Worth the wait to get a new one I reckon.

I love the sound of multiple 3sisters outputs through LPG’s while oscillating, this one has a little tanh3 to shape the slightly fm’d waveform on the output.

I think my SPAN is a little wonky - I can’t get the filters in unison or to spread evenly apart. Is there a calibration control/procedure for that? The Technical Map has a procedure for V/Oct calibration, but I don’t see one for SPAN.

If I remember correctly, the three are never all on the same exact frequency and will usually have at least a little beating. how far off are they from unison? & what kind of weirdness are you experiencing with a sweep of the span control?

It seems like LOW and HIGH are at least about a semitone off from each other when I try to tune one or the other to 1 octave from CENTRE.

I think that’s within the scope of the design, it’s not really meant to be a solid 3 oscillator voice. As the manual says, only the low output is calibrated for v/oct tracking, and there’s no temperature compensation to ensure rock solid tuning stability like a more typical oscillator circuit.

OK, thanks for confirming. If there was a way to calibrate or modify that (assuming it was some trimpot twists or even resistor replacements), I’d be willing to open it up and perform that. I’m a little wary about quirks in my unit than I would be otherwise because I got it secondhand, I had to perform the fuse replacement, and it also has somewhat scratchy pots.

Well scratchy pots could be something worth replacing, not sure what else there might be worth checking for your specific module. I’d hit up whimsical’s support email for inquires of that nature.

I hate to put any pressure because I know the circumstances are making things exceedingly difficult, but is late 2020 still the estimate on these and Mangroves? I’ve been searching around if there’s been any discussion on the subject but haven’t seen any updates as of late.

I mean 2020 really borked the supply chains, and there’s but a couple weeks left to go now, so I reckon “sometime in 2021” is a safe bet.

That’s kind of what I figured, I suppose I was being a bit optimistic. Fingers crossed 2021 shows things turning around, I worry a lot about this industry with all of the slow downs, more than likely unnecessarily but :man_shrugging:t2:

Thanks! This is so cool, there’s an incredible array of sounds from this patch! Here’s a weird rhytmic bass line that showed up when I tried it. Sisters FREQ set near bottom fifth.

For pots that need replacement, what values should be used?

I think this information was posted elsewhere, but I can’t seem to find it.

Ah ha! I’d not considered both pre AND post signal attenuation! Great informative videos as always. Thank you.

We use 10k Linear, but you can safely use any linear pot from 10k up to 100k. Alpha 9mm vertical pot, D-shaft is what you’re after.

Thank you very much!

wondering if a 10mm pot would suffice?

As long as it fits the footprint & is not too tall for the faceplate it’ll be fine!
