Apparently a couple of UK shops contacted them and their business has been hit particularly bad by COVID so they are a decent way off sending anything other than more Cold Mac and w/

knee-jerk reaction

from reverb’s listing guidelines:

Unusual / Incorrect Pricing: The listing price must be indicative of what you believe the true value of the item to be. Indicating that you are artificially pricing outside a reasonable window of this belief (such as wildly overpricing a listing and then dropping the price to an extreme degree) may be a violation of Reverb’s Community Rules and may result in suspension of your listing(s).

@forrest, apologies, i didn’t mean to derail. thanks for rounding it out.

i don’t think further discussion about marketplace pricing is totally necessary. or at least, it seems hairy and i don’t feel it’d be best for me to own the convo.

back on topic!

here’s a bit of six sisters, cross patched into feedback and getting hit with pings from a hand-tweaked just friends:

I believe that violation is in place to stop listing prices from being reduced dramatically so it looks like they’re on sale for a stupid amount like 50% off! Only actually MSRP, what a deal!! I don’t know that that would account for leaving a price at a high amount, because hey, that’s what they believe the true value is, given the rarity in the market…

This seems like a new thread… Can we move this conversation?

BTW I love my 3S and would probably never sell it buy dang if it isn’t tempting seeing some of the prices they’re going for… But no way, as a percussive/pinging voice, modulator, FM-friend… One of my favorite modules…

I would like to hear more examples/experiment more using it as a kind of eq’ing mixer, that’s something I don’t use it often enough for…

I legit messaged this person on reverb a week or two ago and literally said “your three sisters price is bullshit”.

Been listening to a lot of Rrose and spending time pinging Three Sisters and tuning by hand because techno don’t need no quantization. :smiley:

looks like this thread is reinvigorated!

thought I’d share this feedback patch for those living with only one 3S…

you get a pretty wide spectrum from radio waves, crackling intermittency and white noise.

somewhat similar to some of the CM feedback patches but with a little more gumption.

i’ll try and explain the best I can.

outputs high/low go to two channels panned left and right.

you’ll need 2 stackable cables for this.

crossover mode -

freq is at full cw, fm is at 8, span is quite sensitive and tends to enjoy the areas between just before noon and cw, qual allots you control over the fb spectrum as does span.

the patch is slightly hard to explain as there’s a bit of complex stacking going on so i’ll
add a photo for guidance.

Really cool sounds, but I am having a hard time trying to make sense of the photo or description…

just in time for drone day!

Looks like:
all out -> all in -> v/oct
all out -> span -> high in
all out -> fm
centre out -> span
low out ->>>
high out ->>>

i can’t be responsible for this

Don’t. You would be able to buy two units for that money once they’re in stock everywhere.

I figured it went okay ;). Mangrove’s DC offset is a little annoying when using it for FM, but that didn’t bug me too much.

Currently trying to figure out what the next patch is gonna look like

Really excellent complex osc work! Curious to hear more about this if you’re up for it. Things like: which parametets are you playing? To my ears it feels like Kria improv, hand-modulation of formant and barrel, maybe formant -> survey -> sisters params, filtered by a second sisters, but changing which outputs you hear from the second sisters throughout the patch…

Honestly if any of this is right I’ll feel like a Jedi.

this is definitely Kria improv. Mangrove and Sisters are doubling, I think the initial timbre modulation is fading in the Mangrove vs the Sisters with Cold Mac Survey. I think they’re set up in the “logical mixing” arrangement, then fed through another Sisters, whose output is input to the Left + Right Cold Mac inputs. I played with basically all the knobs. What sounded like Formant knob tweaking definitely was, for instance xD

Thanks for opening up – always great to hear from you :slight_smile:

Here’s a fun patch I put together this morning after reading about the Echophon’s broken echo mode.

Patch a sound source to Sisters’ low input, and the output of a delay to its high input. Then patch Sisters’ all output to the delay’s input and either mult that to your monitor or mix the low and high outs to your monitor.

Now, with Sisters’ frequency at full you’ll hear your incoming audio while sending it to the delay buffer. Sweep the frequency down to minimum and you’ll only hear the looping buffer. Changing Sister’s frequency now will punch in new audio while sweeping the old away without any frequency overlap, and dropping quality will overdub new audio on top of the loop without erasing anything.
