W/ell, I’m speechless.

I was a bit concerned that this being a tape delay would overlap too much with things like the Morphagene - and not offer that much beyond those existing modules.

But it seems that this module, despite having similar functionality to a number of existing modules, is going to create a lot of really interesting possibilities largely because of its control design. I saw whimsical tweeting a while ago about the most important part of a module being the design of its front panel - and I totally buy that now.

I’m really intriuged to see what is going to be achievable by someone linking four of these together.

MLR potentially - without having looked too closely at the functionality yet. Presumably we can buy them over time to spread the cost. Even a single one appears to be able to achieve a lot. I’ll definitely be ordering one…now I’m puzzled about what the new monome module is as I thought tehn was hinting at something along these lines…maybe he was referring to this other thing rather than that other thing. With a several of these all those phasing tricks that Steve Reich used to do are a possibility. Really excited.

Need to decipher the manual (gloriously - as always). Pleased I just bought a walk, seems like these would be fun together.

Yeah, it should be able to talk Teletype without the slashes board.

But the main thing of it that come first in my mind with two W/ bundled with a board is making them record and playback in stereo… Or am i wrong?

Al the more tempting.

i suppose it could be used that way, but double the cost just for stereo capability doesn’t seem like an intended purpose. it’s modular, though; everyone has their own unique vision. i’m wondering what chaining one w/ into a second w/ might be like.

i ordered a 2x bundle, as i’m very interested in this thing’s take on tape looping, especially with the teletype integration.

hopefully the rear-mounted slashes connector fits inside the depth of isms; that wasn’t clear from the description. there aren’t any photos or depth specs to compare the rear- and side-mounted versions.

it looks like this is replacing my morphagene. different approach to tape manipulation, but i just haven’t gelled with the morphagene. w/'s hands-on inner-loop-style beat-flipping at 1:50 and 3:30 seems more my style, not to mention the way those gorgeous kaleidoscopic jumbled loops are generated and layered at the beginning of the video, with smooth little tape speed fluctuations.

The REAR MOUNT configuration allows for up to four W/s to connect, while increasing the depth of the modules (53mm required).

The SIDE MOUNT configuration allows joining up to 3 modules, preserving the original depth (39mm), while extending the connectors to the left beyond the module’s denoted width.

Rear-mount configuration is recommended unless your skinny skiff is less than 53mm deep. Side-mount configuration works in shallower cases, however the board will stick behind the module to the left. This means the module next to it must be shallower than 30mm depth! All other mannequins modules (except RIP) satisfy this requirement.

Man this looks so cool and only 2HP! After Teletype I think this will be the next module in my system, consistently amazed by what this company produces.

thanks; i couldn’t find a standalone product page for that. need to email @Galapagoose now and change my order…

I gotta say, the performance video being comprised of different folks playing this instrument is so happy-making. <333

well obviously stereo won’t be the only purpose of a bundle, just the most obvious (to me) use case, stereo delay, stereo sampler etc. ; i guess we may see a lot of interesting features with 2 or more W/ linked together, like CV controlled resampling, pattern slicing etc., and what not!

Owning a Teletype, it’s close to a no brainer for me, and i was just pondering how foolish i should be by getting two of them right now… I haven’t any Morphagene to compare anyway, but i really like the idea of having a whole bunch of sounds (8h) to muse in and experiment. I like samplers a lot but i always feel a pain to sort files, load samples etc.The all “Diary thing” is really great in that regard : you search for sounds more than you organize your files…

thank you @Galapagoose

mlr was actually my first sampler
and i’ve spent a long time searching for an heir that is as fun/functional for me

w/ sounds pretty wild

I was wondering the same

from what read you can use THIS THAT jacks to accomplish the same
from I can guess…w/type allow commands to act as a remote switch

whoa i was just brainstorming a 2hp looper yesterday. not nearly as smart as this though…

Would be nice to see a roadmap of planned TT commands!
