So, could it be used to Record,Play,Loop sections of CV?

Could audio recorded and slowed down to 1.5% (the slowest possible) be used as CV?

I love the idea that you can still hear old audio under a recording!

This is way cooler than I imagined a digital tape looper could be.

jeez

are you kidding me?
ya’ll are made for each other
this is an incredible composition!

thans for posting this (and wanfeng) on bc

this really put a smile on my face

WOW

thank you so much for the encouragement!

just as @Justmat said, it’s wonderful to be alive now,
in the same era with electronic instrument design geniuses.
and it’s also the era that the market is rich, the technology is ripe, the theory is pure, and the future is bright.

and the next mannequin thing will firm this belief.

I started reading the first sentences on the Whimsical site and realized by the time I’m done this thing could be sold out and well I already own everything else so why not move before it’s too late. Bought it and now I’m listening to the @MengQiMusic demo above and will finish reading the webpage before turning to the manual. I wonder if @Galapagoose is shipping today???

Spent the last 2 hours debating whether or not I should pull the trigger and, well…I just pulled the trigger! I had an epiphany last week that my old musical material - usually considered obsolete trash - is always ripe for reuse in new contexts. I really love the idea of a module as diary, coming back to old experiments; the interface and features seem to support this kind of temporal exploration perfectly. Do we have the first true Deleuzian module on our hands?

Might this new new thing involve the bi-directional jacks? :3

It’s a very special time to have so much amazing mucic technology available to us - and to be able to create and publish music with so little pressure.

well, don’t guess it, it’s a faraway dream still.
just enjoy playing music, and let it come to you.

am i understanding it right that you can’t clear the buffer? you can just fast forward to some other section of the 8hrs of ā€œtapeā€?

A celebration of muscle-memory & cheat-code combos

That line. Well done.

When the email hit my inbox, and I saw the 2HP panel, I actually choked up a little.

What a gift this is. Think of the beautiful sounds that will now enter the world because of @Galapagoose’s creativity and dedication, and @tehn’s, and all of yours. Think of all the wonderful accidents and unexpected surprises.

So happy.

Per the manual:

When more sounds become all too much, cut away extant creations by r + ā€œdown arrowā€-ing into OVERWRITE recording.

So you can clear the buffer!

I could be wrong but I think karl means, all at once

not gradually as you record new stuff over old

yeah, just wipe everything. so one can start from a point of silence in the feedback path

I woke up at 3am and saw the news. Purchased it immediately. Tried to get back to sleep. The excitement was too much. Will now need to nap before the Nils Frahm show tonight.

I’m think this will actually make a nice companion to the Morphagene. Using them in tandem will be fun for sure.

I’m planning the same thing

now my question is…

what is all the stuff in wrDsp and other whimsical github directories? upcoming features? roadmap for diy nerds to modify their w/ ???

edit: most of it seems to encompass the cheat code system for looping, nav, cue

I’m not quite smart enough to parse out whether all the things described there are included in v1 of this module…
