This is totally rad. One of the things I use most often in my musicmakings is an old Sony dual tape deck with pitch control, to catch the stereo happening and recompost it. This is that!

Super! Insta-buy as always!
Looking over the manual, its pretty feature rich – def going to take me a while to not get lost inside it I think! hahah

Grats @Galapagoose on the project! You did another one!!

oooo newb feelings creeping back in:

By default W/ overlays sounds-on-sounds, limited only the by headroom of your power supply - treat your gain stages well!

I think I’m totally wrong, but I’m reading this as sound-on-sound would somehow use more power than the module’s listed 59mA @ +12V, 13mA @ -12V. Anybody have insight on this?

Ha my first thought was, ā€œthis is incredible looking/soundingā€ then ā€œwhy isn’t it stereoā€ then ā€œit definitely doesn’t need to be stereoā€

Haven’t had a chance to read the manual yet, but does it’s say whether the input/output is dc coupled or not?

It’s about voltages rather than current draw. At some point, layering sound on sound will cause your output to clip at the +/-12V rails, introducing even harmonics and distortion. I wonder if there’s any graceful limiting in W/ or if it just hard clips…

If anyone wants the surprise spoiled, Control has photos of the PCB art on the product page.

EDIT: they took them down

Love the digital landscape, very Roberto Burle Marx-ish

I have probably a dumb question. How do you hook up more than one i2c to the teletype? Are there chain cables?

not anymore

unless I’m blind

True that, swear they were there 5 mins ago!

Oh well, I’ll see it when I get it. Of course I’ve ordered it already.

there’s so much to like about this (especially as someone who’s whole system is for sampling) but one of the low key features i’m most pleased to see included is toggle-able in>out monitoring. finally! thanks @Galapagoose

Nice! They took it down. I’m wondering if @Galapagoose requested that. I remember him being bummed when people posted the Just Friends PCB art right away.

In wrDsp there are lots of generic units like low-pass gates, oscilators. I feel like a lot of this comes from Just Friends: function generators (which mention a fm in and a fm index knob), low pass gates (as in the plume and synthesis modes), but there are also more generic things, ie filters. My guess is that if he wrote it, he’ll use it at some point… Maybe in a next new thing. We’ll see.
