Cool, nice. I can go for that. Seems ripe for phasing and a bit of indeterminacy!

The manual is quite clear once you get used to the module. One step at a time.

i too love the idea of pairing w/ & tt but…you do know who @TomWhitwell is, right?

i’m not sure whether to cringe silently and stay out of this but if we were all in a room you’d probably have a bit of a laugh about it

yeah, i tried this the other day and it was great…

another thing i’ve been doing is with your loop in play mode… put an LFO into THAT… i think this is the mode where it CV’s between overdub and overwrite mode… (??) but, the most audible effect i’m hearing is a tremolo… it even goes up cool into FM speeds.

Just a quick question as Iā€˜m waiting for my w/ to arrive:

Can it handle line signals?

Some of you seem to record non-eurorack stuff with it. Do you need to amplify those sources first?

Random source + /W + Radio Music = WILD THANG

I ran the Lyra-8 into it and it did just fine. It was a bit quiet, but no more or less so than if I plug the Lyra into anything else.

i’ve only tried an OP1 straight in and it works fine… so, yes, i think it does!

Ha, I was more worried that people would think I was a dick for promoting my own stuff!

Haven’t looked to hard at TT (it looks like an attention black hole, scared to get too close) - can it do audio streaming / sample playback? - scripting that would be amazing.

I don’t think that any module or tool can be inherently better than another, all else being equal. I’ll enjoy my Turing Machine and expanders for some time to come. Its not like the module got better or worse on its own. The only thing that changed is myself.

Looking forward to challenging myself, once again, to learn a new instrument/effect.

I wonder if some visual representation of what’s happening in W/ could be developed for TT?

lol this whole tangent is hilarious
glad everybody is so good natured about it…

to your question: no
teletype only spits out cv and gates (and i2c data)

i dont think the hardware system can handle audio even when hacked with different firmware

Cool. Thanks for the info.

I’m really interested to get my pair and dig into the Teletype integration. Lots of possibilities here.

Does anybody know if it’s possible to erase tapes? There’s so much mess on my first and would like to be able to get rid of it instead of switching to a new tape.

I would suggest waiting for a firmware update unless you would enjoy the same ā€œI can’t tell if this works when it hangs every 30 seconds to 10 minutesā€ challenge that we’ve been through so far.

I’m enjoying mine now that it mostly works, but it’s tough when you can’t tell if it’s user error due to opaque instructions and required ā€œmuscle memoryā€, or if the darn thing has just flaked on you again.

OK, so I2C control + DSP + an SD card round the back = lots of possibilities for TT+W/

ooooh actually this raises a point i hadnt thought of

mabye it’s already been mentioned above but i’d be really happy if there are two erase functions: erase all (8hr), and erase tape

Add a way to erase all cue points as well…

Yes! Knowing how to erase a tape would also make it much more inviting to experiment for me.

There hasn’t been much said about the SD card, other than you can’t just load samples onto it. But I’m failing to see why you couldn’t prepare a tape on a laptop (unless the data format is closed source). You’d have to craft the tools but that doesn’t seem too much to tackle. I presume the reason for SD card in the first place is to allow you to back up tapes??

And FWIW, I also thought about a Radio Music, and some sort of random. TT or TM would both be interesting, but TT with Grid integration might be a very good reason to buy a lunchbox case.
