Wow this thing really is a work of art! The box and the pcb art show such attention to detail that i love about this maker. I had to run through izzy a few times but not having loads of problems with this module. Didn’t really delved much in to moving cues or this and that yet. My first impressions are very positive. This thing is a texture machine pairs really well with morphagene IMO! Loving this, these guys put out the most unique designs so cool!

Same exact thing is happening to me.

hmm that’s possible. the w// order form did have a selection box for slashes configuration (rear or side mount), but i guess nowhere does it explicitly say it comes assembled.

my assumption that it comes assembled is based on the slashes page, where it says

slashes comes bundled when you buy multiple W/s direct from us, or you can roll your own…

at which point the page goes on to explain the assembly instructions, so to me the language suggests the whole page exists for the people who don’t buy the bundle direct and get slashes pre-built. could be wrong tho; no worries for me if i need to assemble it.

I am also having this problem.

So I figured this out late last night (always think clearer when I should be asleep). I’ve only figured out how to get a basic loop going in live mode but give this a try. Enter live mode (press play and make sure both lights up top are on). Disengage loop if it’s glowing (both lights should be off). Press record (at this point the two top lights should be lit along with record and play’s white lights). Press down, you should see the orange light above loop light temporarily to indicate a new cue point has been inserted. Now press up when you’ve reached the end of your desired loop. The next part I’m not 100% about without having w/ in front of me but to overdub I think you then just hit record again, it’ll continue to overdub as the loop plays. To overwrite I believe you just hit record and down together. If that doesn’t work try disengaging record if it’s engaged and then press record and down. Let me know if this helps, you too @mrsoundboyking!

Now to figure out how to adjust cues and navigate around the tape…

@izzy @MengQiMusic @voidstar

i have a few questions that you might be able to answer

  • do multiple w/ have to be installed side by side? can they be spread out in the same case but remain connected?

  • have you tested any of the teletype commands? are you willing to share a bit about the integration?

anyone is welcome to answer…figured i’d ask you first since you lot were in the teaser video

Woop! I’ll let you know when mine’s in; any other Philly W/-ers? We can get together and jam w/ each other.

Last night figured out how to use THIS and THAT in live mode for tape echos and choppy recordings… Octave up/downing and mangling Mangrove sounds into a buttery lo-fi smear. Amazing.

Notable patch: Cold mac AND out(negative) to THAT, Crease out to THIS.
Turning Survey to the right hits a crease spike and records new material, and then turning it left hits the spike to turn off recording and as you move towards the higher negative value the wall of sound fades into the background.

Does anybody know what the orange indicator means above record.

From what I can tell from the manual ‘white’ is record+overdub and ‘white’ and ‘orange’ flashing at the same time means overwrite. But what about only orange flashing?

I’m in the same boat, except I ordered on Thurs. I think there were just a lot of direct orders that they weren’t prepared for.

I think orange indicates the amplitude of the recorded audio.

it would be nice to get an update on that from someone, i ordered mine with a Mangrove and a 550$+ purchase is a lot of money to just have floating out there. A simple “hey guys were backed up, sorry were not letting you know the situation etc etc”

Not so sure. The input has both lights for input and output. From what I’ve seen there’s no explanation in the manual

What I noticed is that with CV applied to THAT, the orange light seems to follow the CV levels. From the manual, CV into THAT controls the level of the recorded audio. But, yeah, I’m not positive on that either.

beautiful craziness happening today with the W/ loving it.

i did have a problem though that it was stuck in this really short loop… whether i recorded, played, stopped, tried to change cue points… i could not navigate away from this short loop (fortunately it was cool and recorded a few minutes of it)… after trying everything to get it to not play this loop i cycled the power and it was OK again.
