yes i understood that, but my response was what am i to do when I tried that method first months ago and still dont get a response, still havent gotten a response?

what good is starting another thread going to do when the people that are creating this stuff rarely respond here in thread land as well as attempted contacts to their sites emails?

a simple post on their site saying
“Hey, were freakin busy nobody is here to answer your stupid questions at the moment so just chill out”

or

“Hey, we effed up and didnt make enough of our new modules to appease all the orders we received and even though you ordered right away youre not gonna get it right away like everyone else did for some reason”

whatever

imma just try to forget about it all its doing now is ruining my day and others as well and that wasnt my intention. I just dont think the customer should be made to fee ignored in any way, wether they have a stupid question or if they have given you hard earned money and just want a simple update on why their order hasnt been fulfilled in the time stated it would be

They will be sending it be patient. Here’s an email I got yesterday.

Really starting to get the whole muscle memory thing going, navigation is starting to make more and more sense. I did notice though that when overdubbing if I start going overboard that the module locks up and I can’t get back to global or any mode. Is this expected functionality when it’s being overdriven?

To make the shipping conversation a bit more productive I made a quick poll on shipping vs ordering slashes bundle. Maybe theres a correlation. Happy to move to another thread though
https://www.strawpoll.me/15341747

There definitely seems to be some shipping weirdness, I’ve confirmed someone with a later order# than me got shipped quickly and received in Aus already where i’m at day 8 without anything yet. It could be the slashes bundles were lagging a bit? (I ordered a bundle)

To be clear I think it’s worth sharing opinions of retailers with the community, if the discussions are positive, or else alerting the community to individuals or retailers that are truly shady.

I’m not sure that discussion is for this thread. People are going to come to this thread in a year when they are trying to figure out WTF this module is and how anything works, and they’re going to read a lot of people were as confused as they were a year ago, but they’re also going to have to wade through a lot of other stuff that is not about Mannequins W/ (with) and which is very specific to this moment in time.

I totally get the frustration of waiting for gear though. I bought a Clouds from someone on that other site, and he said he would ship it last Saturday, and I had to email the guy and say hey, did this ship, but he had food poisoning and anyway the site was down, and the shipping details are over at my girlfriend’s house and I’ll get them to you in the morning. And it turned out he didn’t ship it until today and I’ll see it next week sometime.

So, I do hear you. But I highly doubt Trent and Izzy are swimming in their piles of money, Scrooge McDuck style. I imagine they’re madly trying to fill all the orders from the crazy positive response to this release.

Is loop already engaged when you start to set this up? If so try turning it off before hand. I’ve found that is an essential step.

Hi everyone. I finally got my w/ today. Plugged it in, powered it up and … nothing happens. Nothing at all. No blinking lights, no Izzy, just silence when I patch my sound system to OUT. Tried booting up with r, tried booting up with l+r. Same thing. Seems to be just bricked. I tried another ribbon cable - no difference. That is not supposed to happen, right? At least some lights should be blinking at first startup to indicate the mode I am in? Or is it possible that I am missing something really obvious? Thanks …

Reversed power? That’s usually the first thing I do wrong.

No. Red stripe at -12 both at the module and the bus. Triple checked. Tried another (working) ribbon cable as well. :frowning:

Man that sucks. I believe some folks were having issues with w/ due to their case psu. Have you got lot’s of power hungry modules in your system? Might want to take a few out and see what w/ does.

edit: and maybe double check if the rest of your system is on too. I sometimes forget to push up a fader on my mixer.

Thanks for the input. But unfortunately - no luck. I just disconnected every single module of my (small) system, but even with only w/ plugged in, it does not seem to work. I am using the uZeus flying bus.

As for the mixer - tried that as well. Actually I made sure to plug a cable that was getting sound out of another module and patched that very same cable into w/. But even if there was something wrong with the mixer or the out-jack - the leds should at least be working when powered up.

Well I guess it‘s time for an e-Mail to signalsounds …

Very sorry to hear about that.

For the record: when booting up Izzy with L+R you’ll first see the white led lit up above play, then above loop, then record(I think, could be the other way around). Once you’ve pressed them all it will start Izzy.

I don’t think it would make a difference, but have you checked to see if the SD card on the back is inserted correctly?

Yup, took the sd card out and inserted it back in. Still nothing. Not a single led blinking or lightning up. Oh well. The module is beautiful though, even as a brick. The palm trees on the side are wonderful! Thanks anyways for all the suggestions!

I only have one W/.

As this says : https://www.whimsicalraps.com/pages/slashes If you use the official PCB, W/ have to be side by side. But if you use cables then maybe you can have them apart.

No I haven’t tried tt commands yet.

It was on a KB37, I was using the output section of it.

Guess what the postman just arrived w/! That’s my weekend plans sorted.

i thought i was handling the wait well.

until last night when I dreamed WR surprised us all with a two hp expander module with 3 joysticks and a single “un-loop” button.

yikes.

Just when i thought that i was getting the hang of this i’ve noticed different behaviour all of a sudden. When I’m in live mode with an offset into THAT, when i press the play button instead of turning play off it instantly, it goes into navigation mode in reverse. at which point the offset starts controlling the speed of playback. Basically I’m unable to come out of forward play or reverse navigation without unplugging the cable from that at which point it seems to reset but then as soon as I plug it back in the same thing happens.

Has anyone else noticed this?

THAT controls the tape speed in nav mode, which is really a cool feature. But it’s another thing about the module that can be confusing if you’re not expecting it.

I believe it’s normal behavior when using cv. I had to get used to it too. If you don’t want cv influencing playback in NAV, you’re gonna have to remove the cv going in.
