Play seems to lock up if you rewind all the way back. I’ve sent Trent a mail about the bug. Hopefully it gets fixed in the update.

hi

received mine today, and to be honest I am very frustrated. I cannot tell if the module is bricked or not, but it behaves complete different then in the videos. Even the manual is a big miracle.
Maybe someone can help. As soon as I start the module, Izzy starts to speak. After reaching step 3 (???) in the tutorial (fast forward), I stuck. The module does not react on any input and the only chance to exit is an power cycle.
Is there any tutorial outside?

Best Regards
Marcus

That sounds a lot like one of my modules. It gets stuck on the Rewind step. My other module works great, so I am pretty sure somethings mucked up. You might want to use the Mannequins service email on their website.

bad solder joint on the switch (and your fix) seems like good information to share directly with Whimsical Raps, if you haven’t already: service@whimsicalraps.com

Order #1580 is on the way (for anyone who is still waiting like me)

Order #1581, too

I’m 20 characters of scared to try this…

Mines on the way too! Soooooooo looking forward to where it’ll take me!!!

Nice. Those are smooooooth. Curious about your patch notes for this - I can set up delays in Live Mode with negative CV into THAT, but they always get riddled with loud clicks that overpower anything else. Am I just doing something goofy?

The patch was really simple. I had an LFO from JF going into Survey on a Cold Mac.
CM left out into THAT. It took a couple of attempts to get the loop just right, but it’s totally doable. I didn’t get into it in the clip, but patching a random gate into THIS was a lot of fun.

#1579 on the w/ay

I get these occasionally as well. While I wouldn’t say my loops are riddled w/ them I run into them cropping up w/ some regularity. They aren’t always consistent (ie they don’t necessarily show up on ever loop cycle, perhaps as a result of me not keeping tabs on my THAT voltage) but for me at least, when they happen they seem to time up very closely to where the loop is crossing through the cue point. And often when i get a click stuck in the loop you can watch it time up w/ the cue point flashing above the loop button as the tape crosses the cue.

It seems like i could manage the clicks by going down to -5V on THAT for a bit.

For me the clicks also sneak in when there is nothing in THIS or THAT. Just flipping the looping section up and down manually for a while; the loops get ‘corrupted’ with lots of pops and clicks around the cue points.

I wonder if I’m recording somthing by mistake or otherwise doing something incorrectly.

after a few reliable/controlled/cool days with the w/ my “bugs” are pretty much down to 2…

  1. what sounds like a sample & hold random FM’d digital noise pattern crops up and fills my loop. absolutely not at all related to any sound i’m putting in. i’ll record it next time it happens. really annoying. reminds me of the infamous “noise bursts” from the mungo g0… but different sounding.

oh, and it happens while it’s not even playing. no play light on and only an output connected.

  1. inability to get into PLAY mode… hitting PLAY does not play and no button combo i have found allows me to play except for cycling the power.

i’m not sure what causes either of these, but they happen on a semi-regular basis.

For number 2, it only happens to me if I rewind to the tape start, as I think was mentioned here already. Just in case you hadn’t seen that.

Mine locks up if I try changing reels while in live mode.

Had some fun the other day – nothing fancy, just trying to use it in a musical context instead of the scientific testing I’ve been doing thus far. No special modes, only manual loop jumping/triggering/pitching.

If I never used the other modes (which I have and will) it would be worth the 2hp just for this basic stuff, imho.
