here’s the error sound that’s playing right now. PLAY isn’t even lit. the very top LEDs are cycling ORANGE/WHITE/ORANGE/WHITE/etc

loop is not lit, but the sound doesn’t stop. this is just a very short segment of eternity.

for my #2 error above i think i can recreate it by being in NAV mode and hitting LOOP UP (like i’m moving to the next cue)… after i do that i’m unable to play or do anything without a power cycle

got mine in the mail today, spent ~2.5 hours with it tonight, totally love it! i don’t have anything else like it in my rack and i can already tell i’m going to get a l o t of mileage out of it. a few thoughts:

  • i found the instruction manuals to be extremely informative, especially when compared to cold mac or three sisters. i definitely would not have gotten through tonight without it.
  • one thing that doesn’t seem to be user error: every time i power up i re-start at the beginning of the tape and have to fast forward through all of my early blank cue points, noise, little loops, etc. to get to blank space. i had seen is there any chance that’s me and not w/? several people have mentioned that you should be in the same place where you finished after power cycling.
  • i saw this in some previous post and didn’t think of it until it was too late, so i’ll re-suggest for the rest of you who will be receiving their units in the next few days: record everything! so much cool weird stuff is going to happen that you probably won’t be able to make happen again.

yes i get this exact same thing! but for my version of this it seems to be on the entirety of the first tape. if i switch tapes its not there. but i can not erase this sound/loop. but i can manipulate it, pitched up and down reverse etc. but it continues to repeat regardless if i have loop engaged.

I get the same thing. I have not been able to understand when it occurs but one theory I have is that it is related to CUE points and deleting CUE points. But mind you I’m not sure. Only way to get out of it is to reboot.

Can’t say this enough. I stumbled my way around for a couple of hours last night – it’s been here for days but I haven’t had time to sit down with it! – and already ended up with some crazy stuff which I inadvertently recorded over or ended up being altered beyond recognition. Love it.

Received mine yesterday and had an hour with it this evening. It went pretty smoothly to start but I ended up lost on the tape and couldn’t get any new audio to record. I decided to give up before I got frustrated. I’m very excited to learn and use this with confidence. Aside from all the use cases yet to be explored, its something i was looking for in a looper from a while back. A search that led me to eurorack initially.

sounds like my digital noise error isn’t an isolated case… hopefully then trent will look into it as a bug…

i’ll have to figure out how to switch “tapes”. so i can move away from it and start fresh…

Yeah definitely not isolated, I had this when I first started using the module. No idea if it’s still there but I think it is, just way back early on in tape 1.

This sounds a lot like “datamoshing”. In other words, I think that the sampler’s read head has gone out-of-bounds and is interpreting non-audio data as audio.

To people saying that they love this file and would intentionally make a similar sound, I highly recommend downloading Audacity and making it force-open non-audio files. You can get some surprising results. I’ve had particularly good sounds pop out of .exe files.

terrible lighting, but i was amazed how quickly a loop of ansible sequencing plaits (using the organ/string machine type sounds in chords model) turned into a glass-ian loop (imho music w/ changing parts-ish) with just a little out of time overdubbing, a sloppy loop, and the whole thing going through sisters w/ CCW quality settings.

My direct order arrived on Monday :tada: and I’m stumbling a little out of the gate. Is there any way to get out of Izzy altogether and just skip to a blank tape ? (I can’t seem to make it past the record part of the tutorial and just want a blank slate.) I can’t seem to get into global mode by holding r.

There’s a step by step walktrough in this thread somewhere. Izzy posted it last week.

Not sure if global mode is accessible during the tutorial.

Thanks. That’s what I’m gathering. Looks like I need to soldier on. Unfortunately, I keep getting stuck in the spot @taylor12k reported above:

But now I’m stuck half-way through. Izzy keeps asking me to hit Record to Overdub - which I did - and it worked - but he doesn’t move on. :frowning:

I’ve got an overdubbed loop playing. I can stop and start w/ p but can’t seem to get past. Any ideas appreciated!

EDIT: it feels like I’m trapped by some errant cue points. Every time I attempt to re-do the tutorial I return to the same short loop (of mine) when I get to the “hit record to overdub this” part.

EDIT2: maybe this is what @ghost encountered too… Any tips to get unborked?

Might sound silly but i thought i bricked my module earlier today. It started like i was stuck in a loop then i couldn’t skip loops or record over, rebooted and it was totally un responsive. It wsn’t like user error ive been using it quite few days now it was literally doing nothing. Managed to boot izzy sequence then i re booted holding ‘PLAY’ instead and it just went back to normal. I have no idea what i did to fuck it up but im back enjoying it again now. Strange.

Anyone else noticed the switch looks like it might be a push button too? Can anyone confirm this? If so it may be able to unlock more functionality?
