Additional i2c control would be wonderful. It’d be so nice to be able to wipe the tape, add cue points, and set the this and that modes all from teletype.

I would like normalized control over most parameters. The this and that are fantastic for surprising events, but become a little unwieldy when trying to do something specific. At least in my experience.

I’m torn with W/ - it’s probably the module I feel least comfortable with in my case but it’s the one i’m most confident of a happy surprise with - and I made one of my favourite pieces of music i’ve ever made with it. So I’m excited to get to know it better through its update, but I hope to not completely learn it. I love these fleeting moments of not knowing.

I am hopeful. It remains in the case but has grown dusty with disuse. I would love to rekindle what inspired me at the start. Maybe I should just power it all up and deep dive into what it is, today.

Amazing news! Would be so stoked to see more i2c for W/ along with a more stable firmware.

@Galapagoose any details on what’s coming in the w/ update?

That’s crow, not w/  but yes, I just downloaded the latest crow dev firmware to play with that stuff. Looks great.

I hope this coming update makes W/ indicate better the details of its own runtime state - I struggle to remember how to do basic things on the fly with it. It’s the only module for which I need to have the quick reference constantly by my case. The various light patterns seem to be too similar to one another for me to remember.

Stability aside, “becomes unwieldy when trying to do something specific” is a good description for the problems I’ve been having with it.

I’m just getting started with eurorack, and once the update is ready, this is almost certainly going to be my 1st or 2nd digital module (the other being Stages). I’ve been shopping for something tape-like I can use as both a delay and a variable-start-position sampler, and this seems more my style than Morphagene. I dream of making lopsided beats with this and the 0-Ctrl.

Ohhhhh - I’m very excited about this. Alas, I missed the broadcast. Any key highlights?

w/ can now be used as a polyphonic digital synth similar to just friends (but it’s 4-voice, 2 operator fm synthesis)

plenty of other cool stuff in regular sampler mode too…including precise timestamped cues via crow

sure that someone else can explain it all better than i can

WOW I didn’t see 2-op FM synth even in my wildest of w/ dreams!

Yeah, I logged off pretty quickly - will the beta include any sort of overview documentation in text form? I think my brain prefers that form of information delivery.
