For those tuned in, the sounds were Geode -> Synthesis with two Just Friends modules. Three Sisters did parallel processing of 4 voices. That’s all!

Will post up the whole mess of a stream tomorrow.

Yo that’s what I guessed in the chat! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Those audio clips above are the same idea, what a crazy patch. This is exactly what I imagined when I first asked about multiple jf on teletype all those years ago. So sick

mumblecode

Ah, starting to go more mainstream and less whimsical with the raps I see :stuck_out_tongue:

Any kind of sound with any kind of work in progress crow bits sounds perfect to me!

Had to duck out, what was the last half of mumble code like today? Was looking pretty exciting with the crow w/syn lfo stuff.

Today’s episode of Mumble Code is already posted to Youtube.

This week I’ll be working through a hardware testing platform design. It’ll be focused on using Eagle, talking about systems design, approaching it all with a ‘cyberdeck’ mindset. The eventual result will be a somewhat janky assemblage of objects, hardwired together, rather than a beautifully designed coffeetable piece. This is as much a challenge for myself not to get carried away with making things ‘super nice’, but instead making things with what i have.

Going to be a weird one!

Is it possible to have this one uploaded to YouTube?

Need this thread back up top so I’m not waiting alone for another episode of Maps w/ Trently

Ahoy. Today is going to be another ‘code along’ session. I don’t really have the bandwidth to do a full episode, but I’ll be working on W/2 today and can talk about C oriented coding stuff if anyone has questions.

The main goal of the stream today is to optimize the SD card buffering algorithm. I’m getting close to a new beta firmware, but haven’t had much time to work on it, so we’re going to make some headway on that today!

PS. I don’t have recordings of the last 2 weeks as neither of them set out to be particularly educational. Today will likely be the same I’m afraid. Once we get through the W/ firmware though I’m hoping to get back into more musically oriented Maps episodes.

A weekly reminder!

This week is a ‘new things’ week here at Whimsical Raps, so we’re going to try something new!

When working on new designs I take a lot of inspiration from my illustrator friends. They tend to start the day with a ‘warmup’ design in a loosely timeboxed window.

Today we’re going to design 2 new ‘sound devices’ (‘instrument’ would likely be too strong a word). The forst will be a 15minute ‘warmup’ design. Loose lines & abstract interaction concepts. Then we’ll collect thoughts and jump into a more in-depth design process.

The end goal is a general framework which can be filled in with detail over time. I’ll be walking through my thought process & hopefully express some clear ideas for structuring these kinds of open-ended questions.

Your questions & thoughts are super welcome!
