Mark Eats sequencer problem

Hi there guys, i just installed Mark Eats as it seemed great to use with my Airbase, but it recognizes my grid as 64… i was scared so i opened Polygome again, all fine so far with poly. Did anyone got something similar, is there anything i’m missing?

hey, i’ve heard rumour of this problem before but never been able to reproduce it :expressionless:

can i ask what kind of grid you have, what serialosc version you’re running and if Sequencer always detects it as a 64 or only sometimes?

Hey Mark! thanks for replying that fast. I’m using the new grid, i build one of the kits.
I didn’t install serialosc, i installed the monome sum package as i read that includes all drivers… i’m very new with this so i might be missing something. So far everything works fine with Parc and Polygome

OK cool that should be all you need.

I’d love to know what you see in the console (open the Console app) when you connect to the monome with Sequencer and this happens. There should be some lines that start with ‘Sequencer’. And yeah if it always happens or if it’s intermittent.

I’ll check that now, no it’s not intermittent… will report back in a while

Alright, this is a long one, if you want the full sequence tell me, otherwise i think this is enough, it appears clrearly, but not sure why this happens

Hi just wanted to say thanks for trying that and I will definitely dive into it soon, just a little busy atm

At first glance I think I may have to quiz you a little more to track this done but I want to try a few things my side first.

No problem  at your disposal

OK so I know this is several months later but if you do still have time I’d still be interested in tracking this one down!

I put together a simple test app:
http://www.markeats.com/sequencer/old-versions/monome-connection-test-001.zip

Can you try:

  • Plug in the grid
  • Open the test app
  • Choose the monome from the dropdown
  • Hold a key on the monome for a second and you should see a test pattern across the whole grid (or not)
  • Let me know what you see, and copy and paste the log it produces in it’s window back here.

Thanks!

Of course! will report back tomorrow

I’ve had the same problem as OP but didn’t chime in – happy to help testing!

(I saw the pattern across the whole 128).

Ah it looks like the stuff in quotes is getting removed by the forum software… could you try formatting it as code like this:

[2015-12-31 13:37:07] Raw OSC: <OSCMessage '/serialosc/device'-'(
    "<OSCVal s m0000871>",
    "<OSCVal s monome 256>",
    "<OSCVal i 13792>"
)'>

Although if it’s detecting the size OK then it’s probably not needed

Hi @damianschwartz just wondered if you’d had a chance to try this?

Hello Mark
Sorry for taking so long, i was in Argentina for a month visiting my family, came back last week but it’s taking me a lot to put up with everything, will try that tonight and will post results here
