Of note: This is the only public showing of the Allosphere every year. The Allosphere is a large research facility with a 54.1 channel sound system and immersive visuals. I highly recommend attending a presentation there. Additionally, there will be a lot of excellent research on display, including @cannc and Mert Toka’s Siren, which is a sequencing environment for TidalCycles (http://show.mat.ucsb.edu/page.html?id=15).
On June 2nd, there will be a concert at SBCAST (near downtown Santa Barbara). Curtis Roads will give a rare performance of new material, and Mert will give a livecoding performance of Siren.
If you’re in the LA or SB areas, I highly recommend going to these. I am giving a guest lecture on UCSB on June 1st, so I will be in attendance on both evenings.
