Oh hah, I just replied at the bottom with a better pic of it. This is the only place I’m posting it right now. Thanks for the happy birthday wish!

I’m seeking a matrix mixer equipped with banana-jack inputs and 1/4" outputs, as well as switches and potentiometers for each channel. Or, even better, both banana-jack ins and outs & 1/4" ins and outs + switches. If anyone could point me to one of these—if they already exist?—I would be very grateful! Ideally one I could acquire already built and ready to go.

If you have the coin, Graham Hinton is your man (custom work too):

phew, the bank will have been broken by that sheer amount of coin. also I’m hoping to find something standalone rather than requiring a rack … perhaps the only way is DIY for such a proj …

maybe you should talk to @nff ? he builds custom standalone mixers that seems very reasonably priced.

hey hi!
I can do that for you, of course!

Get in touch at noizhardware@gmail.com if you’re interested, looks like I can’t PM you here

Tom Bugs teased a new work in progress 6x4 matrix today. Looks super neat, 3 way switch per knob for positive/off/negative polarity.

5fw so would fit in one of his smaller cases (similar to chirper/DRM2/compressor etc - imagine this being nice way to interface CVs from Ciat Lonbarde Buchla Serge Bugbrand and all together.

I just saw this video feat. Mr. Hordijk… :exploding_head:

wow…thats a nice matrix

I never fully understood how that matrix worked just from images before, but wow that is an ingenious utilization of TRS jacks!

Just built my Yomo Circuits Activematrix from the panel + pcb http://www.yorkmodular.co.uk/activematrix-4x4-active-matrix-mixer-pcb-and-panel-set

Works and an easy (tho repetitive) build, highly recommended

It’s pretty much the euro matrix mixer i would have designed, tho I still plan to make my own with more channels

adjustable output gain is a great idea.
but i’m dreaming of a matrix mixer with adjustable delay for every node :robot:

Got the email this morning, ordered immediately. This is exactly the kind of matrix I’ve been looking for!

I’ve been trying to find an active diy matrix mixer for ages, stand-alone though as I don’t use any eurorack.

Depending on levels, a 4ms pod or intellijel pallette might help that?

Ah thanks. Pods look like a great idea.

Ken Stone has an active 4x4 matrix mixer PCB set if you’d wanna go full DIY and build it into an enclosure: https://www.elby-designs.com/webtek/cgs/uni33/uni33_matrix_mixer.html

I built a passive matrix mixer, and want to convert it to an active one. The schematics for the projects above are helpful, thanks for them  As I understand the ones from @AIsynthesis and Yomo Circuits they apply buffering and eventual gain control before the output, but not at the input. The Ken Stone one has a buffer both at the input and at the output.

For my uses I want to be able to control gain at the inputs, for use with guitars and contact mics. Control over output gain is less important to me. If I compare with, for example, the AISynthesis project, could I just move the buffer/gain to the input stage and not have a buffer on the output? Or is it always preferable to have a buffer at the output?
