Hello! As I am not able to get Max to run in Ubuntu, I installed it in a VirtualBox Windows 10 and it seems to work. The only issue I am facing is the USB connection from the Monome. Is there anyone who has the same setup running?

I solved it by using Windows 10 natively.

does USB passthrough not work ?
Otherwise you could simply run serialoscd natively on linux and point the OSC part of Max to your host machine. After all, OSC is a network protocol, there should be no problem communicating between the host and the VM.

No… USB passthrough is not working, I don’t know why.
VB says there is no usb device found.

Not much help but I found the combination of Virtual Box and Windows 10 on MacOS incredibly flakey - particularly with regard to USB - I could sometimes stop/start/occasionally reboot and get it all working but often not…

I ended up buying parallels for Mac which doesn’t help you but does work just fine. I also notice that the performance of W10 inside parallels is way better than it was in virtualbox - part of what I suspect the issue was
