Max7 doesn't see serialosc when launching Monome?

Trying to setup a monome on a mac pro w OSX 10.12.6.

1>downloaded and installed serialosc
2>downloaded and installed FTDI VCP driver

In activity monitor I see: serialoscd and serialosc-detector proccesses - both are inactive

When I load Monome from package manager in Max 7 I get:

the “be sure to install serialosc” message

What am I doing wrong or not doing?

Silly question, did you restart your computer after install? I only say it because I’ve dobe it a bunch of times.

“be sure to install serialosc” is just a reminder. (i should remove it altogether)

have you tried running grid_test?
