Except the hat we I not know some part of the helm market will complain about the price regardless. I do think a small production run make sure some sense, but there’s was clearly plenty of appetite from the participants in the YouTube chat.

The 10 units that are in production now is just for optimizing the production workflow, fine tuning the procedures, like what I did for the parameter ranges.

The next batch is likely to be 50+.

I know he had made a few of them some years ago - I think it was 2017? I really wanted to buy one from him when I was in Beijing but I didn’t have room in my suitcase. I don’t think they ever went into full production.

Funny thing is yesterday i bought a wing pinger from schneiders laden but they don‘t know when they‘ll receive them.
they ordered 5 and 4 are reserved or something like that.
they got cv and banana versions.

Steep but… probably worth it. Wish the non-keyboard version went to production.

I have no doubt it’s an astonishing instrument, but that’s a lot to commit for something with no manual and no opportunity to test in person to see if it ‘feels right’ to the individual (although it may actually appreciate in value…).

Obviously none of this is on the designer – just how capitalism works for a small, boutique business dealing in luxury goods while attempting to scale up production.

price seems right. basically consistent with blasser instruments which is right where i figured it’d be. i’ll be holding off for a while myself, but excited to see/hear them in the wild

I can see that. I’ve never been on the market for something quite this bespoke in a stand-alone unit, but particularly the early demos made me hopeful for something sub-1k.

Makes sense as a price, it’s such a beautiful piece of gear. Incredibly envious of those who will be able to afford it! And very impressed by the single company engineering feat that this hardware represent. A huge accomplishment for @MengQiMusic I’m sure, even by his already pretty high standard.
