I called, but I’m also local, so was able to pick up the same day.

Edit: Having not experienced the Wingie before, I’m really enjoying it! The step sequencer on threshold reached for the yellow/red modes is great, kind of a probabilistic sequence as you get closer and sometimes go over that threshold.

With all the demos using synths, even modular, is it safe to just keep levels attenuated, even as the manual warns not to use line level?

That’s to avoid the input from being too hot at the line input, not to avoid the line level signal. Wingie works perfectly with -10dBV line level signal.

Look at that little cutie. So far, so fun. But, I’m a bit confused by cave mode. Can anyone enlighten me?

I’m still figuring things out but in Cave mode the keys act as mute/unmute buttons whereas in the other modes they seem to trigger notes, if that makes any sense.

The buttons mute/unmute a number of pre-tuned frequency bands, which are the same for each channel.

Loving the Wingie. Here’s a quick potato-shot take of Wingie as a bass voice, triggered by a DIY optical turntable sequencer, running through an RE-20 for some delay and reverb.

No, he said that’s hardware based and will be updated on future wingie hardware.

Yes, for USB-C there have to be a pair of resistors for it to be recognized as a “device”. This would be addressed in the future production of Wingie2. I am afraid that the owners of 1st batch Wingie2 have to use the A-C cable.

Just checking, is that quote specifically about charging and not data? Asking because I honestly don’t know if being recognized as a device is required for charging.

Devices connected via USB C have to figure out client/host relations to negotiate who wants how much voltage. In case of hardware before USB C this was handled via the different connector types, A for host and any B type for clients, except for OTG cables where the id pin on the B side had to be connected to ground to indicate it as host.

Although in the end it hinges on manufacturers to adhere to the USB standards .

Help!

Just updated to the newest firmware. Process went smoothly as far as I can tell. No errors thrown during the update etc.

But now my right channel is completely dead. I think its the input stage. Left channel works fine as before. Right channel looks like it should work - leds change colour when changing modes etc - but no audio out at all.

It doesn’t make a difference whether I’m using the line input or the built in mic.

I have tried reinstalling the update several times but it changes nothing.

Wingie 2 + field recorder + midi sprout = WOOF! just sat in my driveway for half an hour freaking out joggers and dog walkers with my maple tree driving the midi. So relaxing.

The phone charger (power bank) I have seems to power Wingie V1 with no problems. It is 5V 1A.
