Korg microkontrol. All the way.
use it with Norns, and even after upgrading to 16n, I think I prefer the MK. it is used on all Ableton mix downs as well.

I like the custom look. Did you make the cover yourself?

I got a microkontrol as a gift awhile back but haven’t used it much because I’ve developed a snobby aversion to cheap plastic gear. Maybe if I made it cute like this I’d like it more…

Yeah! I’ve done 3 now. Really makes it better to look at. Just a few screws to remove and you’re set. Spray painted each one, with care to make sure to have no drips (3-4 light coats over 24 hours with a fan on low blowing on the parts, that’s about it.)

Sorry for the delay, your message went to my junk folder for some reason. I use a UC3 and that was just plug and play and appeared automatically in Ableton. If its not appearing maybe some issue with the cable. One thing about the LV versions, was they had hard coded CC / Midi channels setup specifically for Ableton. You couldn’t change them on the Faderfox. It was the reason i got a UC version which allowed any knob or button to be assigned on the faderfox side in the global menu and wasn’t tied to anything. Not sure if this is your problem but is worth looking at if you haven’t sorted already

Yeah cheers m8 I did see that its kinda hard coded for live, I still have not got it to work even within live but i have not focused too much on it as yet…maybe @cocco88 can share how their using it? I guess in the back of my mind I got it as incentive to learn to make it work through max

i kinda managed to work it out for the shuttle control, it took me like 2 hours to map it

Sorry if this is the wrong thread, but I recently started playing around with the Arturia V collection, and suddenly I’m curious about having a “midi controller cave” instead of a synth cave. Seems like it’ll be a sound investment.

Does anyone here have a small army of controllers so they can perform in real time with VST/AUs? Moreover have you picked up a specific controller for a specific soft-synth to make it as close to real as possible? On that note, what controller would one recommend for the Music Easel emulation? I’ve been really enjoying it, but taking my hands off the keyboard to scroll a mouse is kind of a bummer. I have a Keystep now, but I also have an M-Audio Oxygen 8 that I should plug in.

I have what you could consider a sizable amount of controller for that purpose :innocent::nerd_face:
I own and can recommend the soundforce sfc-5, korg ms-20ic (that’s the controller, you can buy it at eBay for around 110 € if your lucky), I have more but these are probably what you are looking for. also you can repurpose existing hw synths as controllers.
