I can’t find any more detailed specs at the moment, but Twister has a hi-res mode:

  • Encoder Fine Adjust: In this mode, hold down or press a knob, and it becomes high-resolution . This allows you to control a tiny range of values with bigger movements. It’s ideal for precise adjustments to controls like EQ, tempo, resonance, etc.

Edit — Apparently still 7bit. More an adjustment to how the turn of a knob works than actual data transmission.

Should add: there is something the encoders on the faderfox units have that is lacking on the Twister- support for relative mode acceleration. If you are using them to control something like an automation parameter on a VST/AU with good smoothing algorithms (eg U-he Zebra/Bazille etc) you that acceleration in relative mode can get you BEYOND a full range in one turn without zipper noise. But it doesn’t increase precision or actual resolution. I don’t know why the MFT doesn’t have this since it’s built right into the specs for relative control - I hacked something together in Bidule once create switchable acceleration from the twister, unfortunately can’t find that project now…
