Anyone doing MIDI loopback, ie. a technique of setting a device to send MIDI to itself?
I’m new to the game, bought my first ever actual MIDI cable today, and am learning how Digitone does loopback. From what i understand MIDI targets which cannot be addressed with the usual LFOs can be controlled this way.
I have no idea how i figured it out, but apparently a roundabout way around NRPN which recycles MIDI cc numbers is to communicate on different channels, eg. MIDI cc 72 normally on filter envelope sustain is delay_{delay_{delay_{delay}}} lowpass filter on channel 9.
It seems I can also send MIDI and modulation between the MIDI channels, e.g.
MIDI1←MIDI2
