I want to be in a band where this is my only instrument.

a thought popped in to my head the other day about using cheap headphone distro mixers and I’m wondering if anyone else has tried it… unfortunately I don’t have one already on hand but maybe its worth picking one up to try

using headphone distributors as a sort of extra-aux or buffered mult with attenuators. I’m guessing there is probably some sort of signal level issue here, and I highly doubt any of these little headphone mixers are coupled to pass CV, though that would be extra great if one happened to. at minimum though I was thinking it could be handy for situations like where one maybe isn’t using a mixer of doesn’t have a buffered mult so you could route an audio signal around to different destinations at different levels without so much loss, say when using a semi-modular(s). also possibly very handy for making complex and dynamic feedback paths.

I spent so much time running my modular thru “dirty/color/character” mixers that I never tried running induvidual voices thru my Schertler Arthur 48.
Wooooooow, it sounds amazing! I know it’s not compact or inexpensive, but it’s great. Plus as an extra bonus, the super clean preamps actually dirty up nicely.

Oh good lord, I didn’t know modular mixers were a thing… probably shouldn’t have found that out.

Having looked at that mixer many times over the years, this is the first one I’ve actually seen in use. How do you like it?

It’s really good actually. Pre-amps are super clean, clear and fast. EQ set is a bit oddly voiced, but very useful, with an addition very effective 2 frequency notch filter. I have a crazy story as to how I got introduced to Schertler thru a random chance meeting with a multi grammy winning jazz engineer and mixer in Panama City. The main thing I was missing when I sold my 500 series stuff was the transformer vibe I was getting with my API 512c and Neve clone, but a bit after I got a nice deal on the Warm Audio 4 channel thing and I was good.

not sure if it’s been mentioned here, but i just saw that intellijel released a new 2 stereo channel 1u mixer: Intellijel Stereo Mixer 1U - Eurorack Module on ModularGrid
i don’t have 1u row, but this seems like a really nice combo with their mixup module. am i understanding it correctly that one could connect the mixup to 1u stereo to the balanced stereo out on intellijel cases, all on the back panel with 3 pin cables?

If you put a figure-8 rubber band on it, it’s a stereo crossfader!

Had a 2hp TXn come in today. Literally perfect, no complaints. The arrangement of the jacks is so innovative.

I love using the TXn. I put it in an Acid Rain 3u to 1u converter, and now it sits horizontally and is so intuitive.

Yamaha Sessioncake (sessioncake sounds like the name of an AI-generated fake brand on amazon, but ok) looks cute

this is really cool, thanks for posting. the SC-2 seems like it would be absolutely perfect for a laptop ensemble, for example, or a bunch of people jamming on volcas… you could get an 8-person monitoring system for a little over $150. Anybody used one of these and have an opinion on it?

I just searched “yamaha SC-2” and found a yamaha silent piano called SC2  classic yamaha.

I’ve got the blue one - with stereo in. I’ve not had much chance to use it tbh, but it’s a simple functional thing. It takes eurorack levels fine as I remember. Not tried connecting more than one together though.

I’ve been meaning to repurpose an old ipad for an effects send and return with it, but it has since been snared for home schooling!

One thing to consider is it is battery only.

I was looking at the 1010 bluebox for small live set/ recording purpose
The stereo minijack input/output sections looks just perfect for a Ciat Lonbarde/OP1/walkman tape recorder set, basically my favorite “back pack” live set

Found a cute one from '82, a companion to the CS-01: the Yamaha MM10. 4 mic/line channels on 1/4" with volume and pan, one stereo aux channel with volume and 1/4" + RCA outputs.

No affiliation, but this Fuji mixer was new to me…
